Canada: Our home and UN land

Earlier this week Canada kicked out a Rwandan man accused of helping instigate the genocide in his homeland almost 20 years ago, but if were up to the mandarins at the United Nations, Leon Mugesera would still be on Canadian soil.

Despite being found inadmissible to Canada in 1995 by a Liberal cabinet minister, deemed inadmissible by the Supreme Court in 2005 and having lost all of his appeals, the UN stepped in to protect the accused war criminal.

The international body wanted its decisions to supersede Canadian law and courts, and have their people determine when and if we could boot him back to Kigali.

I think most Canadians would find it ridiculous that the UN, the body that told its peacekeepers to stand by and let the Rwandan genocide happen, would intervene to protect a man accused of instigating the mass slaughter.

This isn’t the first time the UN has tried to take control of Canadian decision-making.

Last summer, the UN Human Rights Council tried to stop the deportation of Audley Horace Gardner, a Jamaican national with a history of violence in this country. Even after he was on a plane bound for Kingston, Jamaica, the UN tried to get the Jamaican government to stop the deportation. Thankfully the pilot of the plane wouldn’t let Gardner stay for a return flight.

Canada is a sovereign country, so the idea that the United Nations should be intervening in our internal affairs is bothersome to me, but unfortunately not all that unprecedented. Some Canadians even want it that way.

In the last election, former Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff said this during the French leaders debate: “The Canadian army must never be used outside the country without the authorization of the UN.”
Ignatieff backed away from that idea after a reporter quizzed him on the wisdom of giving Russia and China a veto on Canadian troop deployments.

In the last Parliament, former Liberal MP Gerard Kennedy proposed a bill that would have seen Canada legally bound to accept any army deserters from any war not sanctioned by the United Nations.
It was defeated but did receive the backing of most Liberal, New Democrat and Bloc MPs.

Liberal MP David McGuinty once suggested the Harper government be prosecuted in the International Criminal Court over inaction on climate change.

Later this year, Canada will join other countries around the world in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Rio Earth Summit.

While that summit is recognized for world leaders pledging to co-operate on the environment, many don’t realize that it also spawned a plan for global governance that would see UN principles implemented at the most local levels.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never voted for anyone at the United Nations.
Still, they plod ahead with their plan, which has been given the strangely, sinister-sounding name of Agenda 21, “a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment.”

Translation: The UN wants in on local land-use planning, urban development and even farming.
Soon the global body won’t just be showing up in Canadian courts to defend accused war criminals, they’ll be at town council planning meetings to make sure it all goes their way.

Be concerned.

PM Harper - nationalism or sell out? Where is Canada going?

After hearing and reading the future plans for Canada from Prime Minister Harper I wonder where he and the Conservative Party of Canada is taking the country. There are mixed messages being sent out by the government where in some areas things are typically Canadian while in other areas Canadianism appears to have been sold out to the highest foreign buyers.

With the desire to build an oil pipeline westward, there appears to be a total ignorance of building a Canadian refinery in Alberta. The reality is that there hasn't been a refinery built anywhere in Canada or the United States since 1983. Instead as the refineries age they have been closed down. Would this not be an opportunity for Canada to move ahead by building an oil refinery right there at the oil sand sites?

Think about it. Petro Canada being taken back by the Canadian government as a totally Canadian company, refining its own oil/gas products. This would be a good move would it not?

The Prime Minister is eager to establish "free trade" agreements with India and Europe. It sounds good, but free trade between the United States and Canada hasn't done the country much good. In fact the free trade agreements with the United States has only lined the pockets of business men, destroyed jobs and Canadian companies since the signatures were penned on the agreements.

In fact ever since the free trade deals were established with the Mulroney government, Canadian companies have disappeared to the point that more than 85% of the Canadian manufacturing base was lost, never to be seen again.

Jobs that were once secure in Canada have disappeared and the "job creation" program in Canada has never been able to meet the same production standards that made Canada strong. You can't go into a grocery store these days and find Canadian products. Everything is made or produced in China, India, the United States and everywhere else.

Case in point - The Canadian Super Store hardly has any produce or products that is Canadian on its shelves. You can't even buy a can of fruit that has been produced in Canada because there isn't any. To be honest, I censoriously believe that free trade has done more to destroy Canadian jobs, industry, and productivity.

Another case in point would be the soft wood lumber industry. American lumber companies bought out many Canadian mills and kept the forestry contracts of those mills. The mills were shut down, but the forests were still being harvested. The problem is that these raw logs are being shipped to the States where they are processed and then sold back to Canadians. The mills that are still Canadian owned were being punished with tariffs (which were illegal).

Now that the Conservative government is redirecting trade, they are seeking deals with India, Europe and even more with China. Can this be good for Canada? Why is our government and industry for that matter more concerned with giving jobs to other countries than developing jobs here in Canada?

Can we not manufacture our own products here and ship them out? Apparently not so it seems.

The new direction that the present government wishes to take the country may not be in the best interest of the country. We need to be vigilant in what this government and any future government wishes to do. We as a nation may soon find ourselves owned by other countries while our own people are near jobless.

The service industry flourished because of free trade. Canadians are being forced to work longer hours, more years, for less money just to make ends meet. While this is going on, the rich are getting richer and the middle class is being eroded to the poor class. As it was in the Industrial Revolution there were only two classes of people - the rich and the poor. This appears to be the direction that Canada is going.

Iran arrests wave of bloggers, writers and programmers

Iran is cracking down on internet users amid pressure from abroad

A former DW blog award winner is jailed as Iran faces more political and economic pressure. Tehran is cracking down on people it says use the Internet to connect with foreigners to disrupt upcoming elections.

An Iranian woman who won a 2005 blogging prize from Deutsche Welle was arrested earlier this month in Iran, as part of a recent crackdown against journalists and online activists.
Dokouhaki became known for being one of Iran's earliest female bloggers, and her site, Zan-Nevesht (Woman Writer), often took on women's issues, although she has not worked as a journalist in recent years.
Iran's supreme court has also confirmed last year's death sentence of Saeed Malekpour, an Iranian-Canadian web developer, who has been held since 2008. Mohammad Solimaninya, who founded a professional social networking site for Iranians, was also recently arrested at his home in Karaj, north of Tehran, on January 20.
Marzieh Rasouli, a culture journalist who worked for some of the country's top reformist newspapers, was also taken into custody two days after Dokouhaki, on January 17.
According to Reporters Without Borders, three other online journalists and writers were arrested on January 7.
Hossein Derakhshan has been held in an Iranian prison since 2008At the time, Iran's Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said the arrested bloggers and writers had "envisaged carrying out American plans to disrupt the parliamentary elections by using cyberspace and social networks."
Parliamentary elections are set for March 2, 2012, nearly three years after the disputed June 2009 presidential elections that saw massive street protests.
Hossein Derakhshan, an Iranian-Canadian who also served twice as a jury member for Deutsche Welle's blog awards, known as the BOBs, has been held in an Iranian prison since November 2008.
Hoder, as he was known online, largely spearheaded Iran's active blogging community, and in 2010 was convicted of various crimes, including "cooperation with hostile countries and spreading propaganda against the ruling establishment."

UK government condemns crackdown
Dokouhaki was arrested at home on January 15, and Iranian security officials are reported to have also taken her laptops and other personal belongings. However, she had stopped working in journalism in her home country due to concerns over such crackdowns in recent years, according to one of her former professors.
Iranian officials have come down hard against bloggers and other writersDokouhaki received a master's degree in media and post-national communication from the School of Oriental and African Affairs (SOAS) in London in 2008.
"As far as I know since she went back to Iran, she has not been politically active in any way that we would understand - but of course, with Iran, everything is political," said Annabelle Sreberny, a professor of global media and communications at SOAS, who was Dokouhaki's advisor, in an interview with Deutsche Welle.
In a statement released on the website of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State Alistair Burt said these new arrests contravened human rights obligations.
"I am deeply concerned by a new wave of executions and arrests in Iran," he wrote.
"There are reports that Iran has already executed around 50 people this year, some of them in grotesque public displays. This continues a shocking trend of excessive use of the death penalty that has been condemned by the United Nations."

Police said at least eight buildings were attacked

At least 150 people have been confirmed dead after a spate of bomb and gun attacks in Nigeria's second largest city, Kano. The Islamist group Boko Haram took responsibility, saying the attacks were an act of vengeance.

At least 150 people were confirmed dead in northern Nigeria on Saturday after a series of bombings in the nation's second-largest city, Kano.
The coordinated attacks on Friday evening targeted numerous locations, including police and immigration offices and a motor park. Responsibility has been claimed by a radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram.
"Ours is a campaign against the government, the law enforcement and the Christian Association of Nigeria, because they have slaughtered us," said Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau in a statement.
Nigeria's head of police, Hafiz Ringim, said an investigation would be conducted into what he described as "well-coordinated attacks."
Streets in the city of nine million were deserted on Saturday as a 24-hour curfew was imposed. The situation was described a "desperate," with hospitals struggling to treat the large numbers of people injured and the death toll expected to rise.
Boko Haram said the attacks were in revenge for arrests and killings of members
Police said eight buildings were attacked, including police and secret-service headquarters and three police stations. Shooting was reported to have continued until late into the night.
Attackers on cars and motorbikes Witnesses the blasts were carried out by teenagers on motorbikes, although at one site the attack appeared to have been caused by a suicide bomber driving a car. Security officers were shot dead at immigration offices before attackers threw explosives.
Copies of a letter, apparently from Boko Haram, were distributed around the city. Written in the local Hausa language, they echoed the message that the attacks were retribution for police arrests and killings of members.
Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has recently channeled resources into an emergency taskforce, increasing police raids on the homes and workplaces of suspected Boko Haram militants.
The Islamist group is calling for Sharia law to be introduced in the country, which is divided roughly equally in religious terms between Christians in the south and Muslims in the north.
The bombings are the worst in recent months and follow a series of attacks against churches at Christmas, which killed at least 40 people.

Hijacked by Foreigners

It has become quite evident that the hearings for the Northern Gateway Pipeline has been hijacked by foreigners who have nothing to do with Canada. They don't live here, they don't vacation here, they wouldn't even know where Canada is if they weren't directed.

The hearings have also been hijacked by organizations and companies with deep pockets who's only purpose is to make sure that Canada does not become an economic power, nor a large oil producer. The push from other oil producing nations has become evident as they line up one behind the other with their cheque books ready to finance anyone who will represent them.

There are over 4000 witnesses who have signed up for this hearing that has become a circus of multiple clowns who have nothing to do with Canada. American actors who don't give a shit about Canada in the first place want to look like "environmental good guys" in order to boost their acting careers. These are being followed by environmental wannabes who's only desire is to keep the statuesque in oil production. In other words they would rather use oil from countries where women and children are nothing more than property. Where the press is controlled. Where oppression runs rampant and where religion is used to maintain the oppression of the people.

The use of the term "dirty oil" is used to describe the oil from Alberta. The idea Alberta oil is evil and Arab oil is clean is a fabrication of environmentalist who would rather see slavery. These environmentalists, including the movie stars who are against Canadian oil would rather see slavery and oppression, would rather see women and children used like cattle.

The Canadian hearing should be dismantled now. The Canadian government should move now to end this circus that has been created by the ringmaster we call a chairwoman who is biased and believes the Northern Gateway Pipeline needs to be stopped. She is part of the anti-pipeline movement and she has proven this by allowing the majority of speakers to be those who only want to stop the pipeline.

She has created the circus with her collection of movie stars, environmental wannabes, and activists. She has allowed non-Canadians to speak on behalf of Canadians which can only be one of the biggest farces fabricated.

The government needs start fresh with a new chairperson and with a new policy that only Canadians can speak at this Canadian hearing. As well establish that no one who are paid agents of environmental activists or organizations be allowed to give evidence. In other words only those Canadians who will be directly impacted by the pipeline be allowed to give evidence.

This means that only those who reside in the areas where the pipeline is to be built should be the ones giving evidence. Not someone from Quebec or Ontario or any place else.

The Prime Minister was right when he stated that many of these environmentalists from outside the country only want to see Canada as a huge national park and nothing more. It was the same kind of thinking by those outside of Canada that destroyed the Avro Arrow - a Canadian adventure far ahead of its time. We are now seeing the same thing here.

The government needs to grow some balls here. After all they hold all the trump cards and they're acting as if they're afraid to lay down the cards.

End this circus and start from the beginning with a new unbiased chairperson listening to only Canadians who are directly impacted by this pipeline.

Is Ontario following Germany's Green Energy Plan? McGuinty's Green Energy Act is doing the same as what is going on in Germany. With Ontario's secret agreement of a cap and trade agreement with a California company has proven to be bad for the province which McGunity has brought to its knees.

Lack of affordable energy, raw materials drives German industry abroad

'Shape up or we'll ship out,' says German industry

Fear of rising energy bills and commodity prices has gripped German industry, the German Industry and Commerce Association (DIHK) says. One in five companies has already moved production abroad or plans to do so.

Unstable electricity supply and insufficient access to crucial commodities in Germany, have replaced high labor costs as German industry's main concern for the future, a study by the German Industry and Commerce Association (DIHK), found.

The survey was carried out among the country's manufacturing industry, which is considered the backbone of the German economy.
One in five industrial enterprises, it said, had already moved parts of its manufacturing activities abroad, or was planning to do so "if conditions in Germany deteriorated further."
"It's alarming that German industry sees energy and commodities supply as competitive factors that other countries can provide better than Germany," said Hans Heinrich Driftmann, the head of the DIHK, Tuesday in Berlin.

Scarce resources
German industry imports raw materials worth 40 billion euros ($51 billion) annually. The study said that 50 percent of the companies surveyed saw future supplies as being critical - which meant that the number of "concerned business leaders had almost doubled" in comparison to a similar study conducted last year.
DIHK president Driftmann sees major risks for industrial production hereDriftmann said that global demand for such commodities would increase steeply in the coming years, forcing Germany into "a growing dependency" on a few minerals-rich countries.
"Since our companies cannot do without raw materials, they have to do everything to guarantee a steady supply, including considering a move to the countries which have them," he said.
Driftmann called on the German government to do more to ensure that crucial supply lines remained open. He mentioned so-called rare earth minerals, as an example, which were "increasingly in short supply," as China had reduced its output in recent months.
China is the world's main supplier of such scarce minerals. It has cut exports in efforts to guarantee supplies for its own industry and to keep market prices artificially high.
Power shortages feared
Another sector of concern for Germany industry was domestic electricity supply, the study said.
Little has been done since Germany's 17 reactors went offline in 2011Fifty-eight percent of the companies surveyed said they feared power outages as a result of the government decision last year to put an end to nuclear power in favor of increasing the production of renewable energy.
Driftmann called for more "professionalism and efficiency" on the part of the government in engineering the switch.
"Industry can in no way afford any blackouts in the supply of electricity," he warned.
Tasks to be tackled immediately, he said, were the speedy establishment of smart distribution grids to cope with unstable wind and solar power, and more conventional power plants to manage peaks in electricity demand.
The DIHK president also urged the government to work towards greater acceptance among Germans for the financial and environmental consequences of the country's new energy policy.

Forget the United States - time to move east and west

Today the Obama administration will announce that it will reject the oil pipeline from Canada to Texas from being built. The reality is that if permission was given to build this pipeline, the environmental activists and other yahoos would be pounding the pavement, screaming disasters during the whole year of campaigning. Obama needs and wants the votes of the leftist pain in the ass jerks in order to continue his socialist programs and destruction of the American constitution.

In return though, Canada and Canadians need to understand that the trade world doesn't revolve around the United States only. Yes it is true that about 90% of Canadian trade goes to the U.S., but we need to realize that Europe and Asia would like to get hold of our stuff as well.

As reported, the hearings to the building of the pipeline from Alberta to British Columbia has started with about 4000 witnesses who want to give evidence into the project. So are 98% of these witnesses are jack asses who are getting support money from foreign organizations and companies, as well as 80% of these jerks don't even live in Canada, and are here to create a name for themselves in the wold of environmental stupidity.

Canadian policies and projects should be discussed by Canadians and not foreign bastards who have nothing to gain or loose from their bombastic illusions of grandeur of themselves, and gloom and doom about a project that they know nothing about except for what's been told them by some other idiot, who also has nothing to loose or gain because they don't live in Canada.

The government should be proactive in these hearings about this pipeline project and exclude all non-Canadians from the hearings and dismiss the biased chairperson who's only plan is to derail the project the best she can. Her report will be against the pipeline. We all know that so she definitely should not be the chairperson because is in NOT impartial which is a REQUIREMENT for the position of chairperson.

Combined with this, Canada needs to spend more time opening trade markets east and west and concentrate on southern trade beyond the United States.

Liberals want to legalize Marijuana

The liberal convention is over and they have set three main policies. Whoop-ti-do. One of the policies is to legalize marijuana. Now there are many who feel that this is a good thing. Why not? If marijuana is legalized and controlled like alcohol and tobacco, the liberals feel that they will be making millions in revenue.

There are many who feel that legalization of pot is a good thing. They always point to liquor prohibition and blah blah blah blah. Fine. Legalize it. But at the same time, treat it like alcohol because it is a drug unlike tobacco products.

As a result - marijuana users beware. My leg was amputated because an wing nut was high on weed and caused an accident trying to pass five cars. His lack of judgement was not because I was on a motorcycle. There was a car close behind me and anyone who was not impaired would have realized that the car was even too close to pull out and pass five cars.

No this pricks judgement was impaired by marijuana. So yes by all means legalize the crap. At the same time also realize that if another idiot causes an accident where myself or friends of mine are injured, the law suit will be in the millions of dollars and not just the payout of the insurance policy.

I learned my lesson from that accident - you don't play Mr. Nice Guy. You go for the jugular and rip it out - completely. I have no sympathy for impaired drivers of any kind. You cause the accident - you're going to pay and pay dearly. I won't stop at just a pound of flesh.

10 reasons the U.S. is no longer the land of the free

Every year, the State Department issues reports on individual rights in other countries, monitoring the passage of restrictive laws and regulations around the world. Iran, for example, has been criticized for denying fair public trials and limiting privacy, while Russia has been taken to task for undermining due process. Other countries have been condemned for the use of secret evidence and torture.
Even as we pass judgment on countries we consider unfree, Americans remain confident that any definition of a free nation must include their own — the land of free. Yet, the laws and practices of the land should shake that confidence. In the decade since Sept. 11, 2001, this country has comprehensively reduced civil liberties in the name of an expanded security state. The most recent example of this was the National Defense Authorization Act, signed Dec. 31, which allows for the indefinite detention of citizens. At what point does the reduction of individual rights in our country change how we define ourselves?
While each new national security power Washington has embraced was controversial when enacted, they are often discussed in isolation. But they don’t operate in isolation. They form a mosaic of powers under which our country could be considered, at least in part, authoritarian. Americans often proclaim our nation as a symbol of freedom to the world while dismissing nations such as Cuba and China as categorically unfree. Yet, objectively, we may be only half right. Those countries do lack basic individual rights such as due process, placing them outside any reasonable definition of “free,” but the United States now has much more in common with such regimes than anyone may like to admit.
These countries also have constitutions that purport to guarantee freedoms and rights. But their governments have broad discretion in denying those rights and few real avenues for challenges by citizens — precisely the problem with the new laws in this country.
The list of powers acquired by the U.S. government since 9/11 puts us in rather troubling company.
Assassination of U.S. citizens
President Obama has claimed, as President George W. Bush did before him, the right to order the killing of any citizen considered a terrorist or an abettor of terrorism. Last year, he approved the killing of U.S. citizen Anwar al-Awlaqi and another citizen under this claimed inherent authority. Last month, administration officials affirmed that power, stating that the president can order the assassination of any citizen whom he considers allied with terrorists. (Nations such as Nigeria, Iran and Syria have been routinely criticized for extrajudicial killings of enemies of the state.)
Indefinite detention
Under the law signed last month, terrorism suspects are to be held by the military; the president also has the authority to indefinitely detain citizens accused of terrorism. While the administration claims that this provision only codified existing law, experts widely contest this view, and the administration has opposed efforts to challenge such authority in federal courts. The government continues to claim the right to strip citizens of legal protections based on its sole discretion. (China recently codified a more limited detention law for its citizens, while countries such as Cambodia have been singled out by the United States for “prolonged detention.”)
Arbitrary justice
The president now decides whether a person will receive a trial in the federal courts or in a military tribunal, a system that has been ridiculed around the world for lacking basic due process protections. Bush claimed this authority in 2001, and Obama has continued the practice. (Egypt and China have been denounced for maintaining separate military justice systems for selected defendants, including civilians.)
Warrantless searches
The president may now order warrantless surveillance, including a new capability to force companies and organizations to turn over information on citizens’ finances, communications and associations. Bush acquired this sweeping power under the Patriot Act in 2001, and in 2011, Obama extended the power, including searches of everything from business documents to library records. The government can use “national security letters” to demand, without probable cause, that organizations turn over information on citizens — and order them not to reveal the disclosure to the affected party. (Saudi Arabia and Pakistan operate under laws that allow the government to engage in widespread discretionary surveillance.)
Secret evidence
The government now routinely uses secret evidence to detain individuals and employs secret evidence in federal and military courts. It also forces the dismissal of cases against the United States by simply filing declarations that the cases would make the government reveal classified information that would harm national security — a claim made in a variety of privacy lawsuits and largely accepted by federal judges without question. Even legal opinions, cited as the basis for the government’s actions under the Bush and Obama administrations, have been classified. This allows the government to claim secret legal arguments to support secret proceedings using secret evidence. In addition, some cases never make it to court at all. The federal courts routinely deny constitutional challenges to policies and programs under a narrow definition of standing to bring a case.
War crimes
The world clamored for prosecutions of those responsible for waterboarding terrorism suspects during the Bush administration, but the Obama administration said in 2009 that it would not allow CIA employees to be investigated or prosecuted for such actions. This gutted not just treaty obligations but the Nuremberg principles of international law. When courts in countries such as Spain moved to investigate Bush officials for war crimes, the Obama administration reportedly urged foreign officials not to allow such cases to proceed, despite the fact that the United States has long claimed the same authority with regard to alleged war criminals in other countries. (Various nations have resisted investigations of officials accused of war crimes and torture. Some, such as Serbia and Chile, eventually relented to comply with international law; countries that have denied independent investigations include Iran, Syria and China.)
Secret court
The government has increased its use of the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which has expanded its secret warrants to include individuals deemed to be aiding or abetting hostile foreign governments or organizations. In 2011, Obama renewed these powers, including allowing secret searches of individuals who are not part of an identifiable terrorist group. The administration has asserted the right to ignore congressional limits on such surveillance. (Pakistan places national security surveillance under the unchecked powers of the military or intelligence services.)
Immunity from judicial review
Like the Bush administration, the Obama administration has successfully pushed for immunity for companies that assist in warrantless surveillance of citizens, blocking the ability of citizens to challenge the violation of privacy. (Similarly, China has maintained sweeping immunity claims both inside and outside the country and routinely blocks lawsuits against private companies.)
Continual monitoring of citizens
The Obama administration has successfully defended its claim that it can use GPS devices to monitor every move of targeted citizens without securing any court order or review. (Saudi Arabia has installed massive public surveillance systems, while Cuba is notorious for active monitoring of selected citizens.)
Extraordinary renditions
The government now has the ability to transfer both citizens and noncitizens to another country under a system known as extraordinary rendition, which has been denounced as using other countries, such as Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan, to torture suspects. The Obama administration says it is not continuing the abuses of this practice under Bush, but it insists on the unfettered right to order such transfers — including the possible transfer of U.S. citizens.
These new laws have come with an infusion of money into an expanded security system on the state and federal levels, including more public surveillance cameras, tens of thousands of security personnel and a massive expansion of a terrorist-chasing bureaucracy.
Some politicians shrug and say these increased powers are merely a response to the times we live in. Thus, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) could declare in an interview last spring without objection that “free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war.” Of course, terrorism will never “surrender” and end this particular “war.”
Other politicians rationalize that, while such powers may exist, it really comes down to how they are used. This is a common response by liberals who cannot bring themselves to denounce Obama as they did Bush. Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), for instance, has insisted that Congress is not making any decision on indefinite detention: “That is a decision which we leave where it belongs — in the executive branch.”
And in a signing statement with the defense authorization bill, Obama said he does not intend to use the latest power to indefinitely imprison citizens. Yet, he still accepted the power as a sort of regretful autocrat.
An authoritarian nation is defined not just by the use of authoritarian powers, but by the ability to use them. If a president can take away your freedom or your life on his own authority, all rights become little more than a discretionary grant subject to executive will.
The framers lived under autocratic rule and understood this danger better than we do. James Madison famously warned that we needed a system that did not depend on the good intentions or motivations of our rulers: “If men were angels, no government would be necessary.”
Benjamin Franklin was more direct. In 1787, a Mrs. Powel confronted Franklin after the signing of the Constitution and asked, “Well, Doctor, what have we got — a republic or a monarchy?” His response was a bit chilling: “A republic, Madam, if you can keep it.”
Since 9/11, we have created the very government the framers feared: a government with sweeping and largely unchecked powers resting on the hope that they will be used wisely.
The indefinite-detention provision in the defense authorization bill seemed to many civil libertarians like a betrayal by Obama. While the president had promised to veto the law over that provision, Levin, a sponsor of the bill, disclosed on the Senate floor that it was in fact the White House that approved the removal of any exception for citizens from indefinite detention.
Dishonesty from politicians is nothing new for Americans. The real question is whether we are lying to ourselves when we call this country the land of the free.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." “I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit together at the table of brotherhood.”

On this the 44^th anniversary of the killing of Doctor Martin Luther king Jr. what better way to remember his legacy that to continue to have a dream.

In his speech given on August 28^th, 1963 on the mall in Washington DC he began the section of about his dream for America with these words “I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.”

Sadly these 49 years later the dream is still not complete. Every day we hear of people being bullied because of their race, nationality, religion or even the clothes they wear. Some have been killed or driven to commit suicide because of the taunting they endured.

Dr. King spoke these words on that August day, “I have a dream that one day states will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.” I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

A nation where equality is the rule of life no one would be criticized or excluded because of their nationality, religious conviction, race, sexual orientation or marital condition. No one would be rejected from having the same rights and privileges as every other citizen. In a world where Equality was the rule and not the exception no one would go hungry, homeless or unable to afford decent medical treatment and every person would be able to find a way to earn a living.
As we gather today to give tribute to Dr. King I can think of no better way for us to honor this great man and humanitarian than to do all in our power to bring about the time He dreamed about 49 years ago. A time as he so eloquently said “we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood, a time when we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, stand up for freedom together. When this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, gays and straights will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

Let us pray that on the 50^th anniversary of that great speech we will truly have achieved a time where justice and equality is available to every citizen and every child has enough food to eat, a warm place to live, the opportunity for an affordable education, where every adult is able to find work and where all law abiding individuals regardless of their race, religion or sexual orientation have all the rights and benefits accorded to every citizen. Let us strive to achieve a time were homelessness, hunger and poverty are overcome by compassion, generosity and a sharing of our resources especially by those who have been blessed with wealth and have been elected to uphold the constitution of this great nation.

As Dr. King said that day; “the architects of our republic who wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. AMEN

Liberal Convention in Ottawa - laughs, booze, and cheep talk.

So the liberal party had their convention in Ottawa and one of their speakers was Nanny McGuinty singing the praises of the liberal party and what he's done for Ontario.

Let's look as what the Nanny has done.

1. During his eight years as premier of Ontario he has taken a have province and turned it into a have not province.

2. He has raised taxes and applied fees and taxed the fees.

3. He has sent businesses packing because of the his green energy act.

4. He has told rural Ontario that they don't matter and only the cities count.

5. He has applied more controls on the population - soon he'll tax the amount of times we use the washroom.

6. He has lied to the people through all of his promises.

Let us not forget the money scandals of the liberal party under Jean Chretien, the attitude of privilege. Then the list of leaders - Chretien, Dion, Iggy, now Bob Rae all people that no one would really trust and all wanted to raise taxes, spend money like it going out of style, and the stupidity of a carbon tax, cap-n-trade, all things that would cause business to leave.

The liberals are a side show of laughs. They had to call in Americans to help them develop a new party. So lets see, these guys are the same ones that have railed loudly on the Conservatives for being "american like". But they can bring in three americans to show them how to build a party.

So the "new liberal party" will be an American style Liberal Party - Iggy should feel right at home.

The grasshopper is founddead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken
over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and peaceful, neighborhood.

Same Sex Marriages

The Toronto Star does it again. The continual bashing of the Conservative government is all too familiar and has become such a bore when reading the Toronto Star. The Toronto Star wants to paint a picture and loose the brushes and the paint half way through the story.

The issue is same sex marriage that is before an Ontario court dealing with divorce. A lesbian couple were married in Canada. That is they came to Canada to be married in 2004. One was from Florida and the other was from the United Kingdom. They filed for a divorce in 2005 (go figure) and the case has made its way through the courts to now some seven years later.

At issue is the interpenetration of the marriage act concerning same sex marriages. Before we go any further, let us remember that this section of the Marriage Act was created by the liberals who were in power at the time. It was not created by the Conservative government who have only been in power since 2006.

What is at the center of this divorce case is the interpretation of the law as it was created by the liberals. This law only deals with Canadians of the same sex being married. It does not deal with non-Canadians same sex couples being married. There's the rub.

The couple seeking divorce are not Canadian. At the time of their marriage neither country allowed same sex unions. At the time, the Government of the United States said they would not recognize same sex marriages. There were a number of states that said they as a State (Florida being one) would not recognize same sex marriage no matter where the couple were married. I am not sure when the United Kingdom granted same sex marriages, how ever they were not on the list at the time.

The government lawyers are among a number of organizations that are acting as "intervener" in this particular case. They are asking the judge to clarify the meaning and interpretation of the Canadian Marriage Act in regards to same sex marriage. It is not the government attempting to change the law nor to null and void the law - as this case is dealing with those couples who do not reside in Canada.

The Toronto Star was deliberately misleading the public, indicating that the Conservative government was up to something - like destroying the law. No matter what the judge rules in this case, Canadian same sex couples are still legally married. The definition deals with foreigners coming to Canada to be married and leaving again.

One needs to understand that Canadian law does not necessarily conform to laws in another country. These are Canadian laws and therefore do not apply to other countries due to the sovereignty of every nation through out the world.

So the question really is this. Can a couple from another country, get married in Canada, and expect that marriage to be approved if it does not comply with laws in the couples country or countries of origin?

But then leave it to the Toronto Star to add more fire to the fires anti-conservatism.

Foreign Protesters in Canada

The public hearings have begun for the pipeline that will transport oil from Alberta's oil sands to the coast of British Columbia. There are something like 4000 individuals who have registered to give evidence. Of these 4000 witnesses, it appears that about 80% of these are from outside Canada and have been paid for by foreign interests from environmental groups like to Green Peace to other oil companies like Brazil Oil.

It seems that the chairperson of these hearings has extended the hearing for another year, and has allowed anti-oil witnesses to sign up even after the closing date. Some pro-oil speakers attempted to get into the hearing but were turned down.

It would appear that the chairperson is both bias and anti-conservative. Her attitude has been exhibited by her very actions and attitude. As a result the Minister involved has to determine if the chairperson should be fired, the list of witnesses culled, and find a way to exclude those who are being paid by foreign interests.

This seems to be the problem with Canadian programs from fisheries to environment. Canada has become the kicking post for every foreign movie star, non-Canadian environment groups, and organizations like Avaaz from New York. It easy to protest in Canada - we're so forgiving and easy to push around. After all Canadians are suppose to be pacifists in allowing others to tell us how we should live and such.

Well guess what - there are a lot of Canadians including myself that would like to tell you foreign protesters two words - F%&ck off! Get the crap out of our country and mind your own damn business!

If Canadians want to protest that's fine. They're Canadians and that's part of our program. As for foreigners, take the above hint and get out!

Free Tibet from Chinese Rule and Oppression

Tibetan activists die after self-immolation in protest against Beijing

15 Tibetan activists have died of self-immolation with 12 months

Two Tibetans who set themselves on fire over the weekend have been confirmed dead. The latest incident brings the death toll from self-immolation protests against rule by Beijing to 15 within the last 12 months.

The latest incident occurred Sunday morning in Dari County in the northwestern province of Qinghai. A 42-year-old monk named Sopa died after drinking and pouring kerosene over his body and setting himself on fire.

Woeser, a Tibetan activist in China and trusted source, told Deutsche Welle that "Sopa was a respected monk in the region. He burnt himself at around six in the morning. The police took away the remains of the body after the explosion."

After his death, scores of angry Tibetans descended upon local police by smashing the windows and doors of the local police station, calling on the authorities to hand over the man's remains. "A memorial for Sopa was organized this morning," said Woeser, who is the author of the book "Notes on Tibet", which has been banned by the Chinese government. She was put under house arrest after speaking to reporters during the Tibetan unrest in 2008.

Woeser says repression continues in Tibet

Two former monks at the Kirti monastery, aged 18 and 22 respectively, were also reported to have set themselves on fire on Friday in Sichuan province's Aba county, a restive region familiar with incidents of self-immolation in protest against Chinese rule.

As reported by state media agency Xinhua, the 18-year-old died in a hotel room while the 22-year-old survived and was being treated in a local hospital, which declined to comment on his condition. The latter confessed that he and the deceased had "conspired" to commit the act, a local government spokesperson told Xinhua.

Worsening repression, more tragedy

Increasing incidents of self-immolation by Tibetans is a sign of "aggravating repression by the government on Tibetans, in terms of their religious beliefs, speech and actions," said Woeser, adding that the frequency of such acts contradicts government statements that "Tibetans are leading happy lives."

On a visit to Germany last November, the prime minister of the Tibetan government in exile, Lobsang Sangay, expressed concern over self-immolation by Tibetans. "We don't encourage Tibetans to protest or self-immolate, because we know there are consequences for these acts," he told Deutsche Welle. "If you protest, you'll be arrested, tortured and sometimes even made to disappear. The Chinese government should be responsible for the tragedies that have happened so far. They should change their policies, so Tibetans can have a better life."

Lobsang Sangay was elected prime minister in April last year

According to Xinhua, senior Chinese officials in Tibet "have pledged stepped-up efforts to strengthen the management of monasteries in the fight against the Dalai Lama group." A senior political adviser in Tibet, Basang Toinzhub, says that while the focus this year will be on patriotic and legal education amongst monks and nuns, sustaining stability and promoting harmony will remain a top priority.

But many Tibetans accuse the government of unrelenting religious oppression and of diluting their indigenous culture through increasing immigration to Tibet by China's majority ethnic Han group

Woeser said she was losing confidence in the international community's will to push for democratic reform in China. "The government is immune to the criticism uttered by the international community. Nowadays, as the economy in China is booming, the Western countries prioritize their own interests and care less and less about the human rights situation in China," she said.

Iran ups the anti - again

A citizen of the United States, Amir Mirzaei Hekmati, has been sentenced to death by the Iranian court on the charges of espionage and being a member of the CIA. Amir is 29 and was in the United States Marines and was born in and comes from Arizona.

He was in Iran visiting relatives when he was arrested. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but when the news media claims that he confessed on Iranian television that he was a spy, and has been refused diplomatic contact with the Swiss Embassy, that tells me that this young man was tortured into a confession.

To the Revolutionary Guard in Iran, life is cheep and they get their kicks out of torture. They create their own scenarios and control the public through fear and oppression. This same guard has also imprisoned and from reliable sources like Amnesty International are know to arrest and even execute children as young as 5 years of age.

Iran has been saber rattling since the start of the new year. The country wants a show down with some western power, it doesn't matter who, but the bigger the better. You can be assured that this will not be the only incident. Iran wants a war and needs to demonstrate to their own people and to the world that they can look after themselves and do what they want.

Iran in many ways is like Nazi Germany was. They oppress the people through fear and suspicion. They spread lies and mistrust through out their own country and the world. They believe themselves to be superior and have this innate desire to show strength.

They hide behind Islam and use Islam to obtain the controls they desire over their people and their neighbors. Their fascism is their state function.

So is this young man being used by Iran? You can bet every dollar you own they are. Iran needs to make a statement on the international front. They need to bring about higher tensions with the United States in the hopes that they can plunge the world into a war. The war they want will no doubt be based on religion because it is in religion that they will be able to pull other Islamic nations and people into their trap and use.

In Iranian terms, you can not be a good Muslim if you do not support an Islamic holy war.

EGYPT’S final round of parliamentary elections won’t end until next week, but the outcome is becoming clear. The Muslim Brotherhood will most likely win half the lower house of Parliament, and more extreme Islamists will occupy a quarter. Secular parties will be left with just 25 percent of the seats.
Islamism did not cause the Arab Spring. The region’s authoritarian governments had simply failed to deliver on their promises. Though Arab authoritarianism had a good run from the 1950s until the 1980s, economies eventually stagnated, debts mounted and growing, well-educated populations saw the prosperous egalitarian societies they had been promised receding over the horizon, aggrieving virtually everyone, secularists and Islamists alike.
The last few weeks, however, have confirmed that a revolution’s consequences need not follow from its causes. Rather than bringing secular revolutionaries to power, the Arab Spring is producing flowers of a decidedly Islamist hue. More unsettling to many, Islamists are winning fairly: religious parties are placing first in free, open elections in Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt. So why are so many Arabs voting for parties that seem politically regressive to Westerners?
The West’s own history furnishes an answer. From 1820 to 1850, Europe resembled today’s Arab world in two ways. Both regions experienced historic and seemingly contagious rebellions that swept from country to country. And in both cases, frustrated people in many nations with relatively little in common rallied around a single ideology — one not of their own making, but inherited from previous generations of radicals.
In 19th-century Europe, that ideology was liberalism. It emerged in the late 18th century from the American, Dutch, Polish and especially French revolutions. Whereas the chief political divide in society had long been between monarchs and aristocrats, the revolutions drew a new line between the “old regime” of monarchy, nobility and church, and the new commercial classes and small landholders. For the latter group, it was the old regime that produced the predatory taxes, bankrupt treasuries, corruption, perpetual wars and other pathologies that dragged down their societies. The liberal solution was to extend rights and liberties beyond the aristocracy, which had inherited them from the Middle Ages.
Suppressing liberalism became the chief aim of absolutist regimes in Austria, Russia and Prussia after they helped defeat France in 1815. Prince Klemens von Metternich, Austria’s powerful chancellor, claimed that “English principles” of liberty were foreign to the Continent. But networks of liberals — Italian carbonari, Freemasons, English Radicals — continued to operate underground, communicating across societies and providing a common language for dissent.
This helped lay the ideological groundwork for Spain’s liberal revolution in 1820. From there, revolts spread to Portugal, the Italian states of Naples and Piedmont, and Greece. News of the Spanish revolution even spurred the adoption of liberal constitutions in the nascent states of Gran Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru and Mexico. Despite their varied grievances, in each case liberalism served as a rallying point and political program on which the malcontents could agree.
A decade later, in July 1830, a revolution toppled France’s conservative Bourbon monarchy. Insurrection spread to Belgium, Switzerland, a number of German and Italian states and Poland. Once again, a variety of complaints were distilled into the rejection of the old regime and the acceptance of liberalism.
The revolutions of 1848 were more numerous and consequential but remarkably similar to the earlier ones. Rebels with little in common — factory workers in Paris, peasants in Ireland, artisans in Vienna — followed a script written in the 1790s that was rehearsed continuously in the ensuing years across the continent.

Political Islam, especially the strict version practiced by Salafists in Egypt, is thriving largely because it is tapping into ideological roots that were laid down long before the revolts began. Invented in the 1920s by the Muslim Brotherhood, kept alive by their many affiliates and offshoots, boosted by the failures of Nasserism and Baathism, allegedly bankrolled by Saudi and Qatari money, and inspired by the defiant example of revolutionary Iran, Islamism has for years provided a coherent narrative about what ails Muslim societies and where the cure lies. Far from rendering Islamism unnecessary, as some experts forecast, the Arab Spring has increased its credibility; Islamists, after all, have long condemned these corrupt regimes as destined to fail.
Liberalism in 19th-century Europe, and Islamism in the Arab world today, are like channels dug by one generation of activists and kept open, sometimes quietly, by future ones. When the storms of revolution arrive, whether in Europe or the Middle East, the waters will find those channels. Islamism is winning out because it is the deepest and widest channel into which today’s Arab discontent can flow.

The Ministry of Religious Freedom - in Canada?

The Canadian Government has announced that they will be opening a new ministry called the Office of Religious Freedom. The cost is an estimated 20 million dollars and already has been condemned by every politically left leaning group in Canada. Even some members of the political right are questioning the reality of such an office.

Nothing has been made clear as to what this office will do, how it will operate, nor how it will function. There have been tonnes of speculations made but nothing has been really nailed down as fact at this time. This means that everything is still in the planning and organizing stage.

Amnesty International, Civil Rights groups, and of course all the politically correct group have come out swinging against such an office. They sight historical wars, corruption, oppression and the list goes on and on and on into a never ending story of reasons why this office should not be created.

I too question the reasons for this new office, and even though I am a conservative and a Christian, I can't help but wonder why now? Why create such an office now? What are the real reasons and what are the real objectives?

Religious freedom is "civil right" that has been enshrined in Canada Constitution. It has also been enshrined in the United Nations Human Rights Charter. Religious freedom however, has been chipped away at by the politically correct and politically left despite the significance of this particular "freedom".

The politically correct, atheists, and many of the political left, just wish that all religions would just go away. Their favorite examples of religion is always: religious wars, religious intoleration, religious oppression, and their most favorite one - separation of church and state. Despite the baggage that religion does carry, one needs also to realize that there were just as many if not more non-religious wars, oppressions, slaughters etc.

As far as separation of church and state, we need to remember that this policy was not designed to keep the church from influencing and running a country. It was designed to protect the church from the state, which enables religious freedom in the first place.

As the government ponders this new office, I would ask "What would be the parameters of this office?" Is it going to promote tolerance? Will it be inclusive? What will the be direction of this office? Who will control it? Are other religions going to be involved or just Christian? Yes I have a long of questions and a lot of concerns for this office.

We do know that Christians are being persecuted in 130 countries around the world. We also know that Muslims are being persecuted in about 117 countries as well. What no one is really talking about is that of the 117 countries were Muslims are being persecuted, a large portion of those countries are also Muslim countries, where persecution takes place because of being part of the wrong sect of Muslim faith.

Many of the western countries where Christians are not persecuted with violence, the Christian church is being persecuted through political correctness and other anti-religious people and organizations, even here in Canada.

Internationally I have difficulty with the creation of an Office of Religious Freedom. What other country is going to listen to Canada or any other nation as far as that goes, which also has a similar office? There isn't one foreign country that is going to pay attention to any such office, no matter what country develops such an office.

Nationally? Yes I can see a purpose for an Office of Religious Freedom. It has become time that in this nation such an office be created for domestic purpose. Not for the creation of policy or law, but for the pursuance of religious freedom within Canada it self.

Every provincial human rights tribunal has prosecuted an overwhelming amount of cases where white Christian males have been charged for violating "human rights". These tribunals have become powerful enough that even a "real court" that follows the law of the land, supports the ruling of these tribunals when challenged.

Political correctness has stripped religious freedom from the human rights bills. Political correctness has taken religious freedom and have tossed it aside without so much as a whimper from Christian organization who have become terrorized by the political correct and the politically correct human rights tribunals.

Domestically - yes there is a need for the Office of Religious Freedom if for no other reason than to combat the politically correct which has stripped away freedom of religion so silently and secretly.

How Safe Is Mexico????

In 1978, I went to Mexico for two weeks. During the two weeks there, I can still remember how unsafe I felt while I was there. I did venture out into Acapulco city itself, but always felt relieved to get back to the hotel. It is the only country where I was glad to leave when the time came.

Since then I have been to Monte Carlo, Austria, and Germany. While in Europe I felt safe to be about on my own despite the language barrier. I also felt at home, especially in Monte Carlo where I explored and wondered all the streets and areas without a problem.

Mexico since 1978 has become worse and worse. People are being advised to stay in the hotel compounds where they are vacationing. They are told not to venture out alone and to always be in groups. How can that be a safe place to vacation?

The month before I arrived in Mexico, an RCMP officer was shot while visiting Acapulco, and ever since then the numbers keep getting rising of tourists being killed. That's not the only thing. The police in Mexico can be bought off. The corruption level is so high that it even goes into the government itself.

Police investigations are shotty at most times. I haven't heard of one police investigation that has proven to be of good quality. Basic rules of investigations seem to be unknown, or the weight of money is so evident.

Tourists are targets when they go to countries like Mexico. A person may save up for years to go on a dream vacation. What the poor locals see is a rich tourists and nothing more.

Would I go back to Mexico? No I wouldn't. I've said that since my first and only visit there. Mexico is one place I would not go back to nor even wish to go back to.

I have advised others to pick other countries to go to instead of Mexico. Mexico you trust no one and you have to be on your guard 24 hours a day. Its not a dream vacation spot by any means.

Rural Ontario is told "tough" by the Ontario government.

The Ontario government under the minority leadership of nanny mcguinty has basically told rural Ontario to shut up when it comes to wind turbines.

The "green energy act" has so possessed the liberal government that they have deliberately denied and attempted defame those who complain about the noise from the Turbines. While the Ontario Health Ministry has said the noise from the turbines is acceptable, the Canadian Ministry of Health has documented health issues and problems of those living near by these three armed monsters.

Nanny McGuinty has never cared for rural Ontario. After all support for his rule comes from Toronto which also doesn't care about the rest of Ontario either. The fact is, there will be an election in the spring. You can just feel it. It will either be called by the Nanny himself or caused by a non-confidence vote in the provincial legislature.

It doesn't matter when the election will be, the rest of Ontario as to pull together to get rid of this liberal party and its Nanny if the rest of Ontario is going to do better. As long as Ontario is controlled by those in Toronto, the rest of the province will be unable to move forward.

The green energy act is hampering the province. The province is unable to move forward as the people are being stripped of their wealth in paying for expense of this program. The CEO's of Hydro One are costing the province millions along with the stupidity of green energy.

The people of this province need to dump this guy as soon as the can. However we need to out vote those in Toronto in order to accomplish this. The leaders of the opposition parties have got come out strong and decisive in the next election. They can not allow the Ontario Nanny to control the election. They need to establish themselves and create the atmosphere needed to send this party and this Nanny packing.

Canada For Sale

We are no longer masters in our own house. Every government since Mulroney has put Canada up for sale. Even Chretien allowed Canadian industry and raw materials sold off bit by bit. While the rest of the country was sleeping and believing that our government was looking after Canadian interests, Canadian raw materials, Canadian resources.

We now awaken to find out that almost 80% of Canada's industrial base left the country for the United States with the free trade agreements. We awoke to discover that the vast majority of raw logs have already been purchased by American lumber mills through the sale of lumber mills through out the country, that have since been closed.

Now we find out that 100% of Athabasca Oil Company (Canadian owned) is now in the hands of Petro China. Our oil sands resources have been slowly taken over by foreign companies. In fact much of Canada's oil sands industry and investments are foreign owned.

The remaining question for many Canadians is: "What do Canadians really own in Canada." Many of our hotels are owned by non-Canadian companies. So again; "What is owned by Canada?"

It is time for Canadians to get back into the game of owning and running our own resources, companies, and manufacturing industries.

As far as Petro China, many people don't realize this but when South Africa allowed China in, hoping to employ South Africans, the country got a rude awakening when all the so called jobs that would have been generated were actually taken by Chinese labourors who formed colonies with the sole purpose of working in the industries that were set up by the Chinese.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes Petro China to replace Canadian workers with their own.

Ontario Hydro wants to raise rates of peak times by 10.

One of the many Ontario Hydro CEO's that no doubt are nothing more than a liberal boot liker has suggested that in order to change the habits of people using electricity during peak hours, Ontario Hydro needs to increase the hydro bills for that period of time by 10.

In the latest of strategies by these corporate lap dogs, it has been suggested that people need to be forced to change their habits. The only way to force that change is to make sure they are paying more for that time of electrical use. It is obvious that with all the other add on charges to everyone's hydro bills, that the CEO's aren't getting enough pay and therefore want to burden the public with yet a further weight to their burdens.

Neither the hydro CEO's nor the liberal dogs they serve live from paycheque to paycheque, from pension cheque to pension cheque, wondering where their next meal will come from, it they can pay the rent, and the list goes on. To suggest that people aren't paying enough for electricity is one of the biggest lies that has come out of the mouths of these CEO's and their liberal masters.

Maybe the CEO's should take a 50% cut in the million dollar pay cheques and not get paid their multi-million dollar bonuses that they do not deserve nor should they even expect to get. They aren't worth their pay!

When the people have nothing to loose and the only way is up from the bottom, revolutions bring about the change that is often needed but ignored by those in power who can effect the changes, and by the people who are fed up with the status quo and are willing to force change one way or another.

Ontario will be having a spring election next year. If we're lucky someone in the other two parties will become courageous, grow a pair of gonads and fight the election properly with actual changes that will benefit the people, not the party or the politicians pockets.

While the rest of us struggle with life in general, and others protest as in the occupy movement, few Canadians are aware that our "rights and freedoms" are in the hands of a few who can take them from us individually at the drop of a dime.

We have witnessed the United States dealing with the patriot act, now there is the National Defense Authorization Act. We in Canada have similar acts already that have been instituted under the Chretien government and continues to be supported by the present government.

Out laws are under different names, but initially have the same powers to strip anyone of their constitutional rights. Few Canadians know that even in the Constitution Act of 1983, the civil rights of Canadians can be at any time curtailed by any sitting government for any reason.

What is to come in accordance with the many trade and security agreements is a total alignment of Canadian law with American law, something agreed upon by all Canadian parties - yes - by all Canadian political parties.

We need to be just as concerned as the Americans in the road that our governments are going.

Many years ago I was asked "What is the difference between Canada and Nazi Germany?" My reply was "Take away the concentration camps and there is very little difference." That answer still holds true today.

Little by little, in the name of fighting terrorism, our Bill of Rights is being repealed. The 4th amendment has been rendered toothless by the PATRIOT Act. No more can we truly feel secure in our persons, houses, papers, and effects when now there is an exception that fits nearly any excuse for our government to search and seize our property. Of course, the vast majority of Americans may say “I’m not a terrorist, so I have no reason to worry.” However, innocent people are wrongly accused all the time. The Bill of Rights is there precisely because the founders wanted to set a very high bar for the government to overcome in order to deprive an individual of life or liberty. To lower that bar is to endanger everyone. When the bar is low enough to include political enemies, our descent into totalitarianism is virtually assured.
The PATRIOT Act, as bad is its violation of the 4th Amendment, was just one step down the slippery slope. The recently passed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) continues that slip toward tyranny and in fact accelerates it significantly. The main section of concern, Section 1021 of the NDAA Conference Report, does to the 5th Amendment what the PATRIOT Act does to the 4th. The 5th Amendment is about much more than the right to remain silent in the face of government questioning. It contains very basic and very critical stipulations about due process of law. The government cannot imprison a person for no reason and with no evidence presented or access to legal counsel.
The dangers in the NDAA are its alarmingly vague, undefined criteria for who can be indefinitely detained by the US government without trial. It is now no longer limited to members of al Qaeda or the Taliban, but anyone accused of “substantially supporting” such groups or “associated forces.” How closely associated? And what constitutes “substantial” support? What if it was discovered that someone who committed a terrorist act was once involved with a charity? Or supported a political candidate? Are all donors of that charity or supporters of that candidate now suspect, and subject to indefinite detainment? Is that charity now an associated force?
Additionally, this legislation codifies in law for the first time authority to detain Americans that has to this point only been claimed by President Obama. According to subsection (e) of section 1021, “[n]othing in this section shall be construed to affect existing law or authorities relating to the detention of United States citizens, lawful resident aliens of the United States, or any other persons who are captured or arrested in the United States.” This means the president’s widely expanded view of his own authority to detain Americans indefinitely even on American soil is for the first time in this legislation codified in law. That should chill all of us to our cores.
The Bill of Rights has no exemptions for “really bad people” or terrorists or even non-citizens. It is a key check on government power against any person. That is not a weakness in our legal system; it is the very strength of our legal system. The NDAA attempts to justify abridging the bill of rights on the theory that rights are suspended in a time of war, and the entire Unites States is a battlefield in the War on Terror. This is a very dangerous development indeed. Beware.

Immigration and Canadian Boarder Service - are they protectionists, racist, or what?

In the last year, even in the last two years, it appears that the Canadian Immigration Ministry and the Canadian Border Security agents act more like a soviet block than a country where people of all walks of life are suppose to be welcomed.

The news media has reported over and over again of whole families being deported, family broken up to be deported to even different countries. Individuals being deported where they know that their lives are and will be in danger.

I often wonder the sort of mentality of these agencies that appear to have very little to no compassion for those applying as refugees, real refugees. We seldom heard of this under the liberal government, but I wonder if many of these immigration judges and Boarder Guards are liberals and are out to make the Conservatives look mean and nasty. It seems that more and more stories of refugees being turned away for no other reason than the Immigration Judge believes the people are nothing more than liars, are the wrong colour and/or ethnic minority or back ground.

It's like Immigration and the Canadian Border Service are former Communists or Nazis, ensuring that only the right colour of people, with the right credentials are allowed into the country. If you look at all the refugees that have been sent back, many of them are from poorer countries, or countries where death squads prevail. In other words - if the refugee happens not to be the flavour of the year, they are turned away.

Like the 10 member family that totally being deported to Portugal after being in Canada for over six years, working, studying, raising a family, and paying taxes and are part of the culture of Canada. Or about the couple that had a child, the father was deported to Iran where he lives in hiding, and the mother and child will be deported to Mexico where she is a target of drug lords.

Or how about the 18 year old Mexican that was deported after living here in Canada for 10 years, working part-time, was a honours "A" student and was just pulled out of class and deported to Mexico where his whereabouts is unknown.

It would appear that a wall has been built around Canada. A wall that is guarded by individuals who believe that only a "certain, qualified, chosen, individual" with loads of money (that's the key point) need apply.

I know of a Canadian, who married an American and has spent over 10,000 dollars to immigration just to keep his wife in Canada. It would appear that if you have the money Canada will accept you with open arms. If you're poor, of the wrong colour, or ethnic back ground you will be rejected.

Is it protectionism or just racism disguised as immigration policies.

This is only part of the total story of religious persecutions of the Christian Church.

Nigeria attacks highlight global problems faced by Christians

Studies say religious freedom is under increasing threat

Recent Christmas Day attacks on churches in northern Nigeria, which killed more than 40 people, have refocused attention on the hurdles faced by Christians around the world in practicising their faith.

The deadly Christmas Day bombings in northern Nigeria by shadowy Islamist sect Boko Haram have stoked fears of sectarian conflict in Africa's top oil producer and most populous state.
The Islamist group claimed three bomb attacks in churches on Christmas Sunday, including one that killed 27 worshippers in a Catholic church just outside the capital Abuja. More than 40 people were killed in the bombings.
On Wednesday this week, seven people were wounded after assailants threw a bomb into a madrassa in southern Nigeria's Delta state, raising tensions between Muslims and Christians.
The attacks on churches in Nigeria have fueled fears of sectarian conflict"For hundreds of years, there's been a race, 'Islam versus Christianity' in Africa," Christof Sauer from the International Institute for Religious Freedom (IIRF) told Deutsche Welle. "Just like Sudan, Nigeria lies exactly on the fault line of this conflict."
Sauer said there are reports of regular religiously-motivated attacks in Africa with people at times being pulled from buses and being asked their faith. "Depending on the answer, some are beheaded," Sauer said.
According to a 2009 study by the IIRF, 70 percent of the world's population live in countries where freedom of religion is severely restricted.
There are no studies about how many of the world's estimated two billion Christians suffer religious harassment. But in September this year, Kurt Cardinal Koch, president of the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity, said Christians made up 80 percent of those suffering religious persecution.
Regional differences in Asia
And the numbers of those facing religious oppression have climbed in recent years, according to several studies. They also point to strong regional differences. In Asia - particularly in Afghanistan and increasingly in Pakistan - religiously-motivated "revenge attacks" are on the rise.
In parts of Indonesia, said Sauer, Christians face attacks by militant Hindus and Muslims.
In Saudi Arabia, Christians face strong curbs in practicing their faith. Private church services are banned as is converting from Islam to Christianity.
In India too, Christians, particularly in poor tribal belts, face periodic attacks by militant Hindu groups for converting to Christianity.
In several countries, which were part of the former Soviet Union, strict laws curtail religious freedom in an attempt to curb the influence of Islam.
Coptic Christians make up over 10 percent of Egypt's populationThe non-governmental organization "Open Doors" estimates that state-backed repression of religious freedom is particularly high China, Iran, Myanmar, Turkey, Vietnam and North Korea.
"We believe that 70,000 Christians in North Korea are in labor camps," Sauer said. "And in Iran, the police have summoned Christians during Christmas to raise pressure against organizing festivities."
In recent months, the situation in the border between Asia and Africa has taken a turn for the worse. In 2011 alone, the Arab Spring prompted tens of thousands of Christians, particularly in Egypt, to flee. Observers expect a similar development in Syria if the regime of President Bashar al-Assad were to fall.
Deadly cocktail in Africa
But the situation is by far the worst in West Africa where a deadly mix of religion and politics undergirds many of the conflicts.
Islamist group Boko Haram - suspected of links to al Qaeda - made global headlines in August 2011 when a suicide bomber drove a car into the headquarters of the United Nations in Abuja, killing 24 people.
"In Nigeria, the conflicts can be traced to a dangerous mix of poverty, fanaticism and frustration," Emmanuel Ogbunwezeh, Africa expert at the International Society for Human Rights, told Deutsche Welle. "And this explosive cauldron boils over every now and then."
Nigeria provides the perfect base for Boko Haram, whose name translates as "Western education is sinful" in the Hausa language of the region, to carry out its attacks.
Nigeria's 160 million people are roughly divided between Muslims and Christians. Old tribal rivalries and economic interests serve to fuel religious hatred, especially in the country's poorer, Muslim-dominated northern areas.
It's all about power and "destabilizing the Christian-dominated richer south," Ogbunwezeh said, adding that the stability of the entire continent is at stake. "If you want to control Africa, you first need Nigeria as a military power and an oil exporter," he said.
Ogbunwezeh is pessimistic about the future, saying the country is on the brink of civil war. "If nothing changes there will be no Nigeria in 10 years," he warned.

Can the Western World Save Itself?

Europe has begun the fight, if you wish to call it that, against what some call a slow and deliberate invasion of Islamic ideology and religion. While the "politically correct" crowd cower under any hint of ethnic differences, they fail to understand the reality that in order to be a good Muslim, any ideology, any other religion, any other political system not controlled by Islam, can not be embraced in the slightest.

Even the moderate follower of Islam has to do as he/she is told by their "spiritual" leaders. In Toronto this week, there is an estimated 20,000 Muslims at the convention center. The purpose of the program is to bring into line the youth with Islamic policies, culture, and teachings. There will be those of the Muslim Brotherhood who will stress the "undermining of western society" including Canada.

This is not a convention of information. This is a convention of direction and education of Canadian born Muslims who are not used to being told how to think, dress, and live by a system of clerics. It is a convention of education for the young women to understand that they are under the thumb of male dominance. To education them into understanding that oppression is the way of the Muslim world.

In other words, to bring the middle east to the west before the Europeans arrive and tell what is really going on in France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and other European nations where Islam has gained a foot hold.

I had a professor in college about 40 years ago who advised his students at that time (1971), that Islam was going to be the main political, religious, and cultural threat to Western Civilizations and that if allowed our world will be banished from our sight for ever. He had ample examples and proof, and even though we thought he was off the beaten track, at this time period I believe he knew more of what he was talking about that we believed.

Regardless of the politically correct and many "nay sayers", the world is entering into a religious battle that will be a battle between the west and the east. It will be a battle that will engage in clear and distinctive sides. You will either be a Muslim or you will not. The battle will effect culture, economics, social standards, social life, education, politics, and every part of our lives whether we like it or not.

Of all the absurd arguments made by the forces of political correctness, the notion that Christmas must be hidden away because it is "offensive" to minorities is the most absurd of all.
On this, the day of Christmas Eve, we would do well to remember the annual war on Christmas seldom comes from the followers of other faiths.
Rather, it comes from puffed-up representatives of the modern, secular, liberal state -- particularly government and education bureaucrats.
It is they who rail and rule against Christmas, purporting to speak for unnamed "minorities" who are said to be offended by the very mention of the word, or the seasonal greeting "Merry Christmas," or the presence of a fragrant Christmas tree in any public space.
Well, excuse us, but Christmas offensive? Nonsense.
The true message of Christmas -- found not in the frenzy of the shopping mall, but in the quiet reflection of the home and the church and one's own heart -- is the universal message of all the world's great religions.
It is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
It is to strive to be loving and kind, both to one's own family and to the extended family of humanity, not just on one day of the year, but every day.
It is, as one's means allow, to think of others less fortunate and to be charitable.
It is to comfort the afflicted and visit the sick.
It is to realize that, as fallible as we may be, there is a divine spark in each of us that strives to serve a God who so loved the world, that He sacrificed his only son to atone for the sins of mankind. Not a part of mankind. All of it.
Offensive? How can the message of Christmas, which is a message of universal love, offend people of good will of any faith, or those who follow no formal religion, but who care about the fate of others?
The simple truth -- political correctness aside -- is that it does not.
The lights of Christmas are a welcome respite from the darkest time of the year and its secular images -- Santa Claus, reindeers, elves -- delight both the young and the young at heart of every background.
The greeting of "Merry Christmas" excludes no one.
It's message is one of good wishes and peace towards all and the vast majority of people of all faiths, or no faith, understand this, even if the bureaucrats with their small minds do not.
And so, in the spirit of the season, we wish even the perpetrators of the annual war on Christmas a Merry Christmas, with the sincere hope they will one day come to their senses.

Occupiers Back in the Spring? How Typical of Leftist Freeloaders

So it was announced by the Vancouver Occupiers that they will be back in the spring. They are using this time to regroup and reorganize, determining what area they should occupy next. So let's see the reality of this group.

The reality is that winter is here and its too cold and too wet to be camping out. The movement itself was fizzling out as it wasn't getting anywhere - the reality that no one gave a shit about them. So these guys are now living in the basements of their parent's homes, living off their parents, hoping for more freebies and handouts.

In Toronto the occupy camp received support from unions and others who "thought" they were doing a good turn by giving these freeloaders handouts. How many of them are working? How many of them are in school? How many of them plan to do anything else but protest hoping people will give them handouts?

These camps showed socialism at work and I don't think those living in the tent villages actually enjoyed having everything organized by committees. Even the people of the Union of Soviet Socialist Toronto were getting tired looking after these freeloaders who claimed they were there for some sort of obscure purpose that no one really knew what it was.

So the occupiers are taking the winter off to figure out not so much their next steps but to figure out what they hell they're all about so that they can speak "intelligently" to people instead of being trained like seals to speak the same thing.

So much for the occupy protests. Maybe this time they'll figure out what soap and water can do when combined.

Save the Incandesent Light Bulb!

The incandescent light bulb has been give another two years to live. Yes both the Canadian and Ontario governments have advised that they will not enforce a ban that would restrict the bulb from being transported across Canada and/or sold in stores.

The communist regime of Ontario has announced that the new mercury filled fluorescent curly light bulbs need to have time to develop better disposal procedures and safer bulbs so that the mercury filled bulbs will be less hazardous to people when they break.

There is more problems than just mercury filled light bulbs. Many of these bulbs have health effects to some people, as well as fluorescent bulbs have been known to have adverse effects on people such as causing them to tire more quickly thereby reducing productivity. Many people become fatigued under fluorescent lights.

Once I removed all of these cute curly mercury filled bulbs from my house, I felt a lot better. So when this ban comes into effect in 2014, I will be forced to smuggle incandescent light bulbs from some place. I will not have those mercury filled fluorescent lights in my house.

So McGuinty all you other environmentalists and pushers of these dangerous bulbs -

Everyone needs to remember that these cute curly fluorescent light bulbs are filled with mercury that is a toxic chemical and when disposed of can not be just thrown in the garbage. They must be taken to a place that will properly dispose of these harmful and toxic bulbs.

Here again though I am sure the Union of Socialist Soviet Toronto will make sure the rest of Free and Rural Ontario will be forced to comply with their rules.

slide into the reality that the Bank of Canada and Canada’s monetary and

financial policy are dictated by private foreign banks and financial

interests contrary to the Bank of Canada Act.

The Plaintiffs state that the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), the

Financial Stability Forum (FSF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF)

were all created with the cognizant intent of keeping poorer nations in

their place which has now expanded to all nations in that these financial

institutions largely succeed in over-riding governments and constitutional

orders in countries such as Canada over which they exert financial

control.

The Plaintiffs state that the meetings of the BIS and Financial Stability

Board (FSB) (successor of FSF), their minutes, their discussions and

deliberations are secret and not available nor accountable to Parliament,

the executive, nor the Canadian public notwithstanding that the Bank of

Canada policies directly emanate from these meetings. These organizations

are essentially private, foreign entities controlling Canada’s banking

system and socio-economic policies.

The Plaintiffs state that the defendants (officials) are unwittingly and

/or wittingly, in varying degrees, knowledge and intent engaged in a

conspiracy, along with the BIS, FSB, IMF to render impotent the Bank of

Canada Act as well as Canadian sovereignty over financial, monetary, and

Quebec sounds more foolish than intelligent

Once more the province of Quebec jumps into the shallow end of the gean pool. The Quebec government has announced that they will file court action to obtain the information collected concerning the long gun registry.

Like fools they have not thought this out. They assume that the information gathered for the long gun registry is different and separate from the actual registry. Nothing can be more from the truth. Even thought the long gun registry will be dismantled, the actual gun registry will not.

As I have explained many times before, a person purchasing any firearm will still have to produce his/her gun license before he/she can take possession of that firearm. He/she will also have to produce their license to purchase ammunition even for a long gun. Therefore all this information will be sent to the gun registry as they keep track of all that.

Logic would demand that a province would reconsider such a demand, knowing that the information is still there and that they information will continue to grow.

To say that the police access the long gun registry daily like they would a speeding ticket, is not what the registry was created for in the first place. For police officers to access the registry so often means that they are following orders from their chiefs and police commissions. Again the purpose of the registry was not to be used so common as if everyone in Canada owned a firearm.

What will be more fearful is that when the present Conservative Government gets replaced by another party, either liberal or ndp, the desire to bring the registry back into existence which will cost taxpayers even more and do exactly the same thing as what it has done - nothing.

It didn't take long for all the environmentalists, green party leader, ndp, some liberals, and developing nations to come to the attack of Canada for walking away from Kyoto - an agreement so flawed and so poorly written that it begs to be used as toilet paper.

Listening to question period this afternoon I was amazed at the stupidity of these people. They would rather take Canadians hard earned money, send jobs to other countries, shut down industries, and put a ban on vehicles than admit to the stupidity of Kyoto.

It is difficult to understand these people. Either they have not read the Kyoto protocol or they are imagining that everything is fine. Just take the money from the people and set up out of think air carbon exchange centers. All of this while the largest emitters like China, the United States, India and Russia are not part of the agreement to reduce carbon and green house gas emissions.

Canada, which is only responsible for 2% of the worlds green house gas is to pay over 14 billion dollars to developing nations. While the largest emitters continue emitting green house gas, Canada's 2% would mean absolutely nothing. Even now, nothing has changed in Russia, China, Brazil, or the United States, so what difference would there have been except to look good in the eyes of the United Nations while more and more Canadians would be loosing their jobs.

That is Kyoto people. The exchange of money, our money to some developing nation with guarantees that that government would even consider using that money to develop green energy which is another absolute farce.

We only need to look at Ontario to see how expensive consumer energy bills are, which the Ontario government uses to feed their spending sprees through taxation. Every time you turn around in Ontario you are paying some sort of eco-fee, some environment tax, double taxes on energy.

For those who like to tout Germany as a model nation of green energy think again. Bayer Company has threatened to lay off 55,000 employees and move their operations to China and India because of the cost of energy - green energy that they have to pay.

So as the Ontario dictator continues to rape the Ontario population with green energy bull shit, Canada is saying no to such practices. The Ontario dictator hasn't learned though and will push Ontario to the brink. Remember Dalton McGuinty has taken Ontario from a have province to a have not province. That is the workings of this socialist dictator of Ontario.

Canada did the right thing. The environmentalists and their lap dogs can screw themselves.

Canada walks away from Kyoto!

Its' official. Canada has pulled out of Kyoto sighting a number of reasons, the biggest two being that Kyoto did not include the largest and main green house gas emitters like China, the United States and India and that the penalties Canada would have to pay would be in the rage of 14 billion dollars.

I don't know where the NDP environment critic was, it is evident she hasn't read Kyoto nor has she been listening to the talks in Durban South Africa. It was made clear to all signatories that failure to meet their targets would cost them.

But then the NDP wanted to bring in a carbon tax, a carbon exchange system, with a cap-n-trade system set up for industry. The NDP don't get it and never will. To them, the Kyoto agreement was the "holy grail" of international agreements. It is obvious they didn't read it or they would have known about the penalties that would have been imposed. It is obvious that the NDP didn't listen to what was going on in Durban for the developing nations were demanding billion of dollars to be given to them.

The Kyoto agreement was and is nothing more than a glorified social assistance program for the developing nations. What baffled me the most was that India, China, United States, and Russia were excluded from the agreement and they are the largest emitters of green house gas.

The United States never ratified the agreement because according to American law, no international agreement can be ratified or have legal implications if the agreement would do undo harm to the U.S. economy, industry, and jobs. So the Kyoto agreement could not have been ratified not then and not now.

Russia and China along with India argued that they were developing countries and therefore could not be included in the agreement. There are still another 150 or so countries that have not signed onto Kyoto in the first place and haven't signed on now. To say that Kyoto included all the countries in the world is a lie and nothing more than a lie.

It is interesting that from everything said in the new media outlets, the Arab countries are not part of the Kyoto agreement as no one has heard anything about them nor from them. The only list of countries that seem to run the show of Kyoto is Europe.

Even the Europeans have not met their actual reduction demands as indicated in Kyoto. On paper they have come close and in some cases on paper it would appear that they have accomplished their goals. The reality is something totally different.

Go to any European country and you will see that they have not met their reductions and that people pay through the teeth in taxes and penalties for something that they can not change. They are being screwed, which is what the NDP would like to do to Canadians through Kyoto.

The NDP need to listen more and read more. So far they are out of the loop on the real costs of Kyoto to Canada.

So there appears to be some sort of hope (if you want to call it that) that the nations will be signing a new climate agreement sometime around 2015 - 2020. What everyone has to get their heads around is that as a nation that only produces 2% green house gas, Canada is going to end up getting screwed just like they did under the original Kyoto agreement.

The developing countries want the developed countries to pay them money. Yes that is all this climate crap is about. Paying out of billions and billions of dollars that we don't have to countries who's leaders are usually dictatorial and corrupt. But hey - that's what the third world countries want - our money.

So Canadians (as well as others) will be getting the shaft once more when it comes to gas prices. Yes we will be told how important it is for us to pay a carbon tax, while we watch our money being sent to these corrupt third world nations with no guarantee that the money sent will go towards the climate change programs that will be allegedly developed by these "developing nations" including China and India.

Not only has the United Nations told Canadians to assume the position, they have been adamant that Canada is to blame for our 2% ghg, while China will continue to bring online their 688 coal fired generating plants by 2015.

There are so many loop holes in this agreement that countries like China, India, United States, and Brazil can actually walk away from the agreement while the rest of the signatories are left holding the bag and screwing their country's population.

Let's face the reality of the facts. Climate change is being used as an excuse to "share the wealth" to third world nations who have complained the most demanding money in the billions to run so called clean air programs.

The whole thing smells of rotten eggs it does. The socialist/communist ideology of the United Nations and the rest of the environmentalist idiots only have one thing in mind. Take money from the have countries and give it to the have not countries though carbon taxation systems and so called carbon exchange investment firms which are nothing more hot air systems that have been pulled out of thin air.

The idea of climate change is nothing more than latest expectations of governments, hoaring the population like a shepherd on a sheep and they rape their populations for money they don't have to pay for third world populations until we too are nothing more than third world left over hookers to be thrown away.

That's all climate change is. There isn't one country yet that has achieved their so called climate requirements, and no country ever be able to achieve their so called reduction goals. Hope fades for meaningful deal at Durban climate talks

Another summit is set to end without binding emission cuts

European representatives worry climate talks in Durban could be set to collapse. There's no breakthrough on the horizon and delegates remain deeply divided.

Time is running out for a deal to be reached at the United Nations climate talks in Durban, South Africa, despite all-night negotiations and an extra day.

Both the German and French environment ministers were pessimistic about the chances of key players agreeing to any sort of substantial action plan.

"We are now in an extremely critical situation because of time," said German Environment Minister Norbert Röttgen. "The delay is very critical. It is very doubtful whether we will succeed."

Island nations worry time is running out - for negotiations and their survival

Röttgen and his French counterpart both blamed the slow pace of negotiations under the chairmanship of South Africa.

"We are in the worst situation, that of failure because of time management," French Environment Minister Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet said. "We are risking failure because of a lack of negotiations, a lack of confrontation," she added. "Last night, the conference [chair] did not even seem to take the problem of time into account."

The talks were scheduled to wrap up on Friday but were extended to Saturday.

Dozens of the world's poorest countries and small island states have joined the EU in backing a plan that would extend the Kyoto Protocol, while drawing the world's biggest emitters - including China, the United States and India - into binding emission cuts by 2020. The Kyoto Protocol expires in 2012.

The grouping encompasses a clear majority of nations present at the talks.

Major polluters dig in their heels

The world's biggest emitters, China and the United States, however, are among those most resistant to the proposal.

"Only a very few countries stand in the way of agreement here," Röttgen told reporters. "These are the main emitters, as has been the case throughout the week - the US, China, India."

The US has long argued that it will not enter into binding cuts to its emissions unless similar rules are applied to the world's large developing countries.

Brazil and South Africa appear open to the compromise in what has been called the BASIC group of large emerging economies, which also includes India and China.

The latter have traditionally argued that the developed world carries a larger burden for tackling the problem.

In recent days China's position has become more ambiguous.

It has indicated that it does not wish to stand in the way of a legally binding treaty. However, it is unclear whether it would be prepared to include itself in binding commitments in such a treaty, especially before 2020.

China is the biggest emitter of greenhouse gases and doesn't want binding reductions

India appears to be the biggest obstacle among large emerging economies.

The country of 1.2 billion people has annual carbon emissions of fewer than two tones per capita - compared to around 20 tons for the United States - and says it is unfair to expect its people to shoulder the burden of tackling climate change amid pressing needs to escape poverty.

"[Indians] continue to struggle with the challenge of eking out their livelihoods, meeting their basic needs, and cannot be expected to be legally bound to reduce their emissions when they make no emissions at all," said Indian Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan.

India says it cannot imagine a new treaty before 2020.

EU wants a deal by 2015

The European Union doesn't want to wait that long. The bloc's climate chief, Connie Hedegaard, said she wants to see the world reach an agreement by 2015.

"Four years to do what should be done is not an unfair deadline," Hedegaard said.

Röttgen added that the pace of progress was far too slow.

"It's inacceptable that a year-long phase of negotiations is used to secure a pause in actions," he said. "Negotiations and actions have to occur in tandem."

No deal better than bad deal?

Emotions have boiled over in the presence of some large emitters' delegates

Even if negotiators manage to reach a compromise deal, there may not be much to celebrate, according to Kate Horner of the environmental protection group Friends of the Earth said.

"There is a very serious danger that we will be locked into a process that delays actions for five to 10 years and possibly delivers a weaker system than the present one," she said.

Evidence in a string of scientific studies leading up to and into the conference suggests time is running out for countries to get a handle on global warming.

At the outset of the conference, the World Meteorological Organization said levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere "are very rapidly approaching levels consistent with a 2 to 2.4 degree Centigrade rise in average global temperatures, which scientists believe could trigger far reaching and irreversible changes in our Earth, biosphere and oceans."

Limiting climate change to a rise of two degrees Celsius is viewed as crucial to avoid dangerous tipping points that would lead to runaway warming.

"Failure is a possibility in Durban," said Greenpeace's Kaiser. "That would be preferable to some kind of lazy compromise that's sold to the public as proof of progress."

Discrimination of Western Farmers

This past year, there has been a rivalry between farmers, especially in the west. Ontario and Quebec farmers can sell their grain to whom ever they want. The Western Farmer though by law is forced to sell his grain to the Canadian Wheat Marketing Board, which in turn sells that grain and pays the farmer plus takes a fee. Is that fair?

The Western Farmer is only wanting to sell his grain like any other farmer in Ontario and Quebec. There should not be a marketing board - that's a carry over from fascist style of governments brought about by liberals of the past. The board may have had a purpose at one time, but it no longer is a viable tool for Western Farmers who want to sell their grain freely.

The law that is being created by the Government of Canada creates a system whereby the Western Farmer can opt out of the clutches of the marketing board. How ever the marketing board want to keep their jobs, so by loosing the farmers as potential clients/customers they will be looking for work.

So the Government of Canada needs to continue with developing this legislation and appeal the lower court ruling of the marketing boards managers.

What is good for one set of farmers is good for the other. Either all Farmers come under the Canadian Wheat Marketing Board or they don't. The government is creating a balanced approach by allowing the farmer to have the option of who they wish to sell their grain to.

The liberals still desire to hang onto their outdated fascist ideology of control.

Time of Rememberance or Politics?

Today there will be remembrance services through out Canada for the 14 women that were shot by a lone gun man at a Quebec University. No one will remember the two men that were also shot trying to stop the shootings, as in this country only women count. Now if the two men had been of anyone of the many ethnic minorities, than they too would have been included into this remembrance as it would have fit the political agenda of the feminist and politically correct movements.

The fact is, this lone gun man would have committed this crime regardless if there had been a gun registry or not. The fact is that this one individual would have obtained any weapon through any means. He had planned it out. He had created and carried out a plan for a reason that he and he only convinced himself was a justified reason.

Once more, this day is being politicized by liberals and ndp politicians who are only interested in votes. Once more this day will be feminized by the feminist movement, declaring all white males and evil. Once more this day will be used to demonize the Conservative Party of Canada as anti-feminist and pro-gun political party.

The ending of the long gun registry does not (once more) end the gun registry, nor does it put an end to how guns of any kind are bought and sold in this country. Anyone who believes that the ending of the long gun registry will end the total gun registry is not only a fool but a total idiot as well. I won't go into this again, as I have done many time in previous posts.

What we will see today is Conservative bashing, Prime Minister Harper bashing, by feminists, liberals, and ndp, the political left, and anti-gun activists. There will be efforts made to make sure that the 14 women will be "remembered" but that will only be the vehicle used in order to bash the government and anyone who happens to be of the political right.

It has become interesting but of no surprise that Conservative members of Parliament have not been invited to any remembrance services as far as I know through out the country. Only liberals and ndp have been give the "permission" to attend as they fit into the bashing events that will take place.

Freedom of speech for the left is only tolerated if it supports the leftist point of view. Anything else will not be tolerated, not only here but at any other time.

Just announced today that Canada is going to pull out of the Kyoto agreement in 2012 as it expires. YES! That is the right move to make.

If the other big polluters refuse to participate in a binding agreement, then there is no need for Canada to even be at the table.

We don't have to worry though. Suzuki and the gang are already working on a new program of global crowding, which will take the place of global warming. They will no doubt be encouraging doctor assisted suicide for the chronically ill, culling of the human race through euthanasia of physically and mentally disabled people, mandatory abortion of non-perfect fetuses, a two child policy for all governments to adopt, abortions after two children, clearing out of orphanages, and mandatory euthanasia of anyone over the age of 70.

So much for society. It already in hell - the hand basket is just beginning to burn.

Let's Dump on Canada

As mentioned before, Canada is an easy target to attack because Canadians just shrug off the stupidity of other nations and individuals who find it too easy to criticize the Canadian stance on climate change.

Let's be realistic here. Canada only emits 2% of the world's green house gas, that's all. This has been substantiated by environmentalists and climate change experts all over the world. Yet Canada is being targeted as it the country produces 90% of the world's green house gas. So there is something amiss here.

What is wrong is that Canada has never fought back. Now Canada is standing up and demanding that all emitters be included in a binding agreement. But that goes against what China, Russia, India, Brazil, U.S.A., Japan and Korea. They want only developed nations to sign onto a binding agreement. So what is that agreement?

The agreement basically puts Canada and other countries on the road to financial and production disaster. Canada would be giving over 15 billion dollars a year to developing countries such as China, Russia, Brazil etc. We need to remember that China and Russia, while part of the G8 and G20 are considered as developing countries under the Kyoto agreement. That is how flawed this agreement is.

The other part would be that in order for Canada to meet there demanded requirements, the country would have to shut down every industry, all Canadians would have to stop driving all vehicles, and Canada would have to slaughter all animals (except humans) because they fart. Canada would also have to dry up all the swamps, muskegs, and clean up rotting vegetation immediately as these also give off green house gas.

This leaves only the reality of man made green house gas which only accounts for the 2% of emissions made by Canada. The reality then is that so called developing countries are free to emit green house gas all they want while countries like Canada will be fined.

The money created through fines, carbon exchange (which is bogus) centers, carbon taxes, cap and trade programs would all be sent out of the country to developing countries like China - as if they really need more money.

We need to remember that the economy of China is now driving the world's economy and therefore does not need any more money coming from an extended Kyoto agreement.

Canada is right. All countries must be included in this agreement. If not, than once more the agreement is nothing more than a flawed agreement that penalizes developed countries while letting so called developing countries off the hook completely.

So my thoughts on Durban? Canada should give the "Canadian salute" and leave the conference completely

Every climate conference, every talk about climate, Canada has become nothing more than an easy target by developing countries, environmental activists, and by liberal and ndp members of parliament. You would think that a member of the Canadian parliament wouldn't go to a foreign country just to trash talk the government, but that is what some of them have done.

Canada has always been an easy target. The reason being is that we don't fight back and we just smile and walk away knowing that those who are doing the trash talking are jerks and jackasses in the first place. They aren't worth considering let alone getting excited about.

Canada has only been blamed for 2% of the world's pollution and yet at these climate conferences Canada is singled out as if Canada produces 90% of the world's pollution. Canada is an easy target because no one will go after China, India, Russia, Brazil, because they don't want to offend them, and yet they are the major polluters in the world, including the United States.

China will have over 688 coal fired generating stations on line and in full operation by the end of 2020, and yet nothing is being said to them. The 2% that Canada causes compared to China isn't worth a pinch of crap. Yet the United Nations, African countries, and environmentalists all believe that Canada is the key country to this Kyoto crap.

The real reason behind this environmental Kyoto agreement is money. The developing countries see a total of 15 billion dollar coming from Canada if they can force Canada to agree and sign on. The liberals knew this crap when they signed onto the first deal. That is why the liberal party did absolutely nothing to enforce it. Now that the Conservatives are in power, the liberals have changed their tune hoping to collect the votes they are desperate to get.

Canadians are not in favour of a carbon tax, a carbon exchange, and cap-n-trade when it does nothing for the environment, and nothing for Canada but take more money out of the country and give it to developing nations who for some reason believe that they are entitled to it.

Over 15 billion dollars to pay out for nothing in return is nothing more that universal welfare for countries who on average have corrupt leaders. Yes! That means that the money given to developing nations will be kept by the leaders.

And while we at it, China is considered a developing nation, along with Russia, India and Brazil. All of these countries have been producing manufactured goods as long as Canada has, are major polluters, but will be given this money as part of the "developing country". They don't need the money, nor should Canada be involved in a program of international welfare.

Climate change is here to stay. I took that in grade 7 back in the 1960's. It was common knowledge and understanding then and it is still common knowledge and understanding now. This climate change program will not solve anything, but it will redistribute money from the developed nations to the undeveloped nations including China which has become a major trading country in the world with a rising economy that everyone else can not keep up with.

By the way for the record - China announced that they would not sign onto any binding agreement on climate change. Once more Canada is being blamed when China has already set the tone for the conference that is nothing more that a charade at best.

Toronto Star vs Another Conservative

Mayor Rob Ford and the Toronto Star have drawn their own lines in the sand. The Mayor refuses to speak to anyone or send emails to anyone who works or represents the Toronto Star. The reason stems from a story the Toronto Star ran last year about Mayor Ford having some sort of an altercation with a football player. Anyways the story was later found to be false and even though the Toronto Star never printed anything else, there is bad blood between the two.

Well the Mayor will only talk to the Toronto Star if they print a front page apology. Well we already know the Toronto Star won't do that. We also know that the Toronto Star is notorious for creating news rather than reporting news, and we also know that as long as Mayor Ford is conservative, the Toronto Star doesn't give a rat's ass.

Yes that's right. They don't. This goes back a long ways. When the Reform Party of Canada came on the scene, the Toronto Star misquoted, made up, and distorted everything Preston Manning and the Reform Party members were saying and doing. In fact it got so bad that the Reform Party refused to speak to the Toronto Star.

Well nothing has changed. Anything and everything Prime Minister Harper says and does is continually distorted to the point that the credibility of the Toronto Star is not only questioned, but is laughed at. Give you an example. Many news papers are quoted in Parliament all the time, especially during question period. Last week a member of the liberal party stood and quoted a column in the Toronto Star. As soon as he mentioned the quote was from the Toronto Star, even the NDP members of Parliament were laughing along with some liberals. The result is clear - The Toronto Star is not a credible news paper anymore.

People read the Toronto Star to see what is new in the bleeding heart liberal camp. If you want to know what the latest politically correct bull shit is being discussed or seen as the "proper" way to think, you read the Toronto Star. It has all of that politically correct and liberal sob stories contained with in it pages.

Any story dealing with anything conservative will have a liberal slant to it and to make sure the slanted in the "right direction" you can always bet and be sure that the story will be distorted with just the right amount of truth that even Joseph Gobbles would be proud.

Liberals eat this up as being the truth, while conservatives and others know better. This battle between Mayor Ford and the Toronto Star is just another school yard fight that is so typical of liberalism.

In any protest staged by Iranian militants, it is quite obvious that the protest has the sanction of the government of Iran. So when the British Embassy was stormed on Tuesday by "militant students" you can be sure that the protest was organized and staged by the government of Iran.

Since Tuesday, the British diplomatic staff and other British subjects have been told by Britain to leave Iran. Today (Wednesday) the British Government has ordered all Iranian diplomats and their staff to leave the British Isles. The Government of Britain has also endorsed further sanctions against the country - all the while the Iranian government is attempting to say it was Britain's fault.

So now the battle begins. The British Government has put a ban on imports of oil from Iran. They have also made it illegal to deal with Iranian banks in Britain along with a number of other sanctions.

The Iranian government has threatened further action, but not sure what this could be since Britain has taken the first step in a series of possible sanctions. Of course Britain has been inundated with mosques and large amounts of Islamic immigrants of which many most likely come from Iran.

To shut the door on these immigrants and order all Iranians out of the country could be a massive undertaking but a very effective step. They could also pass laws restraining the spread of Islam through out the British Union but these steps would likely not be taken.

One action the government of Britain could take would be to seize all assets of Iranian companies to pay for the damages of their embassy. They could also freeze all exports and imports to Iran, and not just oil. I believe Britain could inflict more economic, cultural, and professional sanctions against Iran than Iran could against Britain.

Many things we know about Iran - it is a fascist state where oppression and fear rules the people. Iran can make communist Russia and Nazi Germany look like child's play, and therefore should never be trusted.

TORONTO - Well, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
In Canada, this means the annual United Nations gabfest on global warming is getting underway in an exotic locale - this year Durban, South Africa.
And so it’s time for the opposition parties, including party of one Elizabeth May, along with other environmentalists, to blame Canada for the failure of the Kyoto accord and efforts to save the planet from global warming.
Expect a new round of “fossil fool” awards for Canada in Durban, with gusts of political indignation ranging from tropical storm to hurricane force heading our way.
After all, it happens at this time every year.
The source of this year’s festival of indignation is a media report Canada will pull out of the Kyoto accord in late December, which Environment Minister Peter Kent described as an “option” Monday, while refusing to say whether the government will do it.
Now let’s talk about the real world.
Canada’s position is nothing new.
It’s that we won’t sign a successor agreement to the Kyoto accord, which expires at the end of 2012, unless it commits the developing world, including the world’s biggest greenhouse gas emitter, China, to emission reduction targets, which it doesn’t at present.
Canada is not alone in this view. We share it with other developed countries, such as Japan, Russia and the United States.
Ironically, the U.S., the world’s number two emitter, also doesn’t have to do anything to lower its emissions under Kyoto.
That’s because the U.S., unlike Canada, never ratified Kyoto and has refused to do so ever since the Bill Clinton/Al Gore administration. Yep. Gore.
Why? For the same reason Canada is refusing to commit to Kyoto’s successor now.
The U.S. has never ratified Kyoto because it makes no demands on the developing world to cut emissions, not just by China, but India, Brazil and scores of other developing nations.
This annual opposition/environmental activist allegation that Canada, responsible for 2% of global emissions (the oil sands account for one/tenth of 1%) is the key to success or failure of Kyoto and efforts to save the planet from runaway climate change, is absurd.
Kyoto failed not because Canada didn’t meet its emission targets.
It failed because it didn’t require the vast majority of the world’s nations - including China and the U.S. which are responsible for a combined 40% of global emissions - to reduce their emissions at all.
Canada failed to meet its Kyoto targets because the Liberals under Jean Chretien recklessly signed us up for them, without having any idea of the huge economic hit it would mean for a big, cold, northern, sparsely populated, oil and natural gas producing nation like Canada.
We know Chretien had no idea of what he was doing because after he signed and ratified Kyoto, the Liberals did nothing to implement it.
By the time Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservatives took power in 2006, we were so far behind our Kyoto target that meeting it would have cratered our economy.
Since then, the Conservatives have done what the Liberals used to do on Kyoto - pay lip service to it, while ignoring it.
Far from being criticized by all the usual suspects, Harper and Kent should be commended for starting to talk honestly about the farcical nature of the Kyoto accord and that Canada is not prepared to participate in the process any longer, unless global warming starts to be addressed globally.
Unlike the opposition parties and the environmental movement, they’ve decided Canadians can handle the truth.

Long Gun Registry

You can't fix stupid, is what a friend of mine keeps saying. I would have to agree with him when it comes to the NDP and the liberal parties with their anti-gun campaign.

How many times does it have to be said to these stupid people who just don't get it. They just don't know what they are talking about and they're suppose to be in parliament.

So here is goes again for the stupid anti-gun people who just don't get it.

1. You still need a license to purchase any gun. It doesn't matter if it is a long gun, hand gun, rifle, or what ever.

2. You still need a license to purchase the ammunition for all guns regardless of what kind it is.

3. You still need to attend a gun safety course to obtain your gun license.

4. You still need to take a hunting course to go hunting.

5. You still need your gun license to carry your rifle or shot gun when you are hunting.

6. You can not do anything without that gun license - period - end of story.

7. When you purchase that rifle or shot gun, you show your license and that information is sent to the fire arms office.

8. You don't need to register the rifle or shot gun, but you still need that license to posses that rifle or shotgun.

I don't expect liberals, ndp, or anti-gun people to understand this since none of them likely own a gun of any kind including a glass filled pistol of candy. The long gun registry is nothing more than a duplication of information to keep stupid people content. Nothing more.

The long gun registry has done nothing. By the way, the police chiefs have ordered their officers to access the gun registry as they would if they were accessing license checks for cars etc. That is not what the gun registry was intended for. Just the same - they are not accessing only the long gun registry because it is linked to the gun registry. In other words, it is the same damn registry you idiots!

The long gun is nothing more than a toothless, meaningless, bureaucratic expense account. Nothing else.

Apparently the White House referred to Christmas Trees as Holiday Trees for the first time this year which prompted CBS presenter, Ben Stein, to present this piece which I would like to share with you. I think it applies just as much to many countries as it does to America ..

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God ? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said okay.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

NDAA detention provision would turn America into a “battlefield”

The Senate is set to vote on a bill next week that would define the whole of the United States as a “battlefield” and allow the U.S. Military to arrest American citizens in their own back yard without charge or trial.

“The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civiliansanywhere in the world. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself,” writes Chris Anders of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office.

Under the ‘worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial’ provision of S.1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which is set to be up for a vote on the Senate floor Monday, the legislation will “basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who supports the bill.

The bill was drafted in secret by Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), before being passed in a closed-door committee meeting without any kind of hearing. The language appears in sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA bill.

“I would also point out that these provisions raise serious questions as to who we are as a society and what our Constitution seeks to protect,” Colorado Senator Mark Udall said in a speech last week. One section of these provisions, section 1031, would be interpreted as allowing the military to capture and indefinitely detain American citizens on U.S. soil. Section 1031 essentially repeals the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 by authorizing the U.S. military to perform law enforcement functions on American soil. That alone should alarm my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, but there are other problems with these provisions that must be resolved.”

This means Americans could be declared domestic terrorists and thrown in a military brig with no recourse whatsoever. Given that the Department of Homeland Security has characterized behavior such as buying gold, owning guns, using a watch or binoculars, donating to charity, using the telephone or email to find information, using cash, and all manner of mundane behaviors as potential indicators of domestic terrorism, such a provision would be wide open to abuse.

“American citizens and people picked up on American or Canadian or British streets being sent to military prisons indefinitely without even being charged with a crime. Really? Does anyone think this is a good idea? And why now?” asks Anders.

The ACLU is urging citizens to call their Senator and demand that the Udall Amendment be added to the bill, a change that would at least act as a check to prevent Americans being snatched off the streets without some form of Congressional oversight.

We have been warning for over a decade that Americans would become the target of laws supposedly aimed at terrorists and enemy combatants. Alex Jones personally documented how U.S. troops were being trained to arrest U.S. citizens in the event of martial law during urban warfare training drills back in the 90's. Under the National Defense Authorization Act bill, no declaration of martial law is necessary since Americans would now be subject to the same treatment as suspected insurgents in places like Afghanistan and Iraq.

If you thought that the executive assassination of American citizens abroad was bad enough, now similar powers will be extended to the “homeland,” in other words, your town, your community, your back yard.

Working Family Organization

The Ontario Progressive Conservatives have won the right to bring the liberal/union organization called Working Families to court.

This organization is made up of unions which includes the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario and the Ontario Nurses’ Association. All these unions are anti conservative of any stripe and spent over 2 million in smear campaigns against the Ontario Conservative Party.

This is a third party group that saves the liberal and the NDP millions and most likely order their supportive union members to vote against the Ontario Conservatives.

The problem is, this organization serves the Toronto area and does not represent rural Ontario, let alone northern Ontario. They are an isolated group that enjoy smearing all conservatives with what ever lie or near lie they can create.

All they have to do is create the image, nothing more, for their campaign is based on selective inducement of an idea. The idea is that you bring a near truth to the add and play it in such a way that the mind continues with the thought process suggesting that this is the truth. It is a practice that was very effective with Herr Goebbles.

While the liberals continue to claim Working Families has nothing to do with them, they have been able to save money because they don't have to run as many adds. In fact the liberals have come to rely on the propaganda machine of the Working Families.

The name Working Families is also an effective tool. It gives suggestion that the organization represents all Ontario families when in reality it only represents unionized workers who mainly live in the Toronto area. Outside of Toronto, the name Working Families is nothing more than what it is - a propaganda machine out to destroy the conservative party both provincially and federally. It appears the people outside of Toronto see this group for what they really are.

They may not wear a swastika or a hammer and cycle as their emblems, but they are socialist/communists just the same with the same political ideology and agenda.

In other words, they are not to be trusted. They are what they are - a propaganda machine.

Well sit on it! The massed crowds of idiots that camped out in Toronto were nothing more than professional protestors support by and were the puppets of the unions. It appeared that only those in Toronto seemed to care though the vast majority couldn't care less with the movement.

Yeah yeah we've heard it before. Corporate greed, control of the government, control of the economy, and lets make it one step more, control of the fashion industry. Everyone is just tired of the rhetoric and the crap that these protestors keep chanting. They follow a socialist drum that no one else is listening to, and no one else really cares about.

And so the police and city workers move into the St. James park to clean up after the protesters. This has been the same at all the other occupy camp outs through out the country. City workers have had to go in and clean up after these people.

This says a lot about the kind of people that are attracted to this lefty political groupies. Let's face it - they demand that the government wipe their asses from birth to death, the evidence is here that they believe others need to clean up after them - that they are not responsible for the mess they make.

This is nothing more than an excuse to be in the news media. What would happen if the news media never showed up? What would happen to this movement is the news media just didn't bother with these guys. It would show the reality of the movement that the majority of people through out the country don't care. The only reason why these guys get what they want (pictures and media coverage) is because they are like magnets attracting the media to their encampments.

This of course is what these guys really wanted - their pictures spread through out the media and internet system and even though I have posted their pictures, to me these two are nothing more than a professional protestors. Kids that I coach would basically call them loosers and I would agree - as that's all they are

Let's face it. The Tea Party movement that these guys have complained about over and over again, left a clean area when they left. There was no garbage, no scummy looking people, no futile stupidity, they actually did something and accomplished something.

For a group that the left keeps complaining about, the left has nothing to hold against them what so ever. The left have failed to actually make a statement that really matters. They have failed to change society, change government, actually get involved in the process.

This group are professional protestors. They have no other purpose in life but to see if they can get their pictures in the paper and leave a mess behind. The left are true to their calling - they want someone else to clean up after them while they scream and curse that their "rights" are being infringed upon.

These are nothing more than excuses of society.

So across Canada, before the G20 conference took place, the police had infiltrated protest groups and organizations that were planning to protest the G20. Well isn't that what we pay the police to do? Isn't that part of keeping society safe? If the police hadn't of done that, I would have criticized them for not doing that.

The political left get so bent out of shape when they come to realize that the police were spying on them. So what! Who cares? It was you fools in the first place that announced your intentions of disruptive violence. It was you fools who planned and organized the actions that were taken. It was you fools who made the loudest noises inviting observation. And now your pissed? Get over it!

Now that the left have found out they were spied on, they have announced that Canada has become a police state under the leadership of ----- oh yeah ---- leadership of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Well guess what dumb asses - as far back as Sir John A. MacDonald the police have been involved in "spying" on covert organizations. Its not anything new! Get a life!

It seems that the political left have their shorts tied in one of the largest knots possible. Are they that naive or just plane stupid? Or do they believe they live in an Alice in Wonderland society? To think that the police have never before spied on organizations is absolutely stupid.

Canada is no where near a police state like the left seems to think. They need to get out more and travel around to other countries where they really have a police state. Canada isn't anywhere near a police state. Canada is doing what the government has always done and will always do. That's part of the Canadian way of life, like or not.

They waited and waited and waited but nothing happened. The Occupy Toronto protesters were waiting for police to come in and evict them. They wanted a confrontation, nothing more and when they didn't get it the extras fell away and went home to a warm bed.

The hope that police would come in and forcibly clear the protestors out was something that the protestors wanted. Why not? Their movement is loosing steam. The majority of people outside Toronto may support their ideology, but don't share their demonstration. We have more important things to do than sit on our asses hoping to find a space on some news paper page.

The demonstration have made a point, a point that everyone has known for decades if not centuries. So to say it again and again is nothing more than a mundane exercise in yawning. So as protesters plan how they will make their photo ops, the rest of us quietly understand that nothing more will be done, life goes on, and nothing will change.

It doesn't matter that this "occupy" movement is global. Each country has a different set of issues despite a common rhetoric. It doesn't matter how this movement makes an obvious issue of things that will not or can not be changed. The fact remains is that everyone knows of the inequality and also realize that even if there is some kind of revolution the end result will remain the same.

To wait for police to come in and evict protesters is nothing more than a desperate act of getting their faces in the paper and on the news. The use of passive resistance is nothing more than act of resistance hoping for some new paper reporter will take their picture. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm always amazed at the bravery of people wearing a mask. I am also amazed by the left who believe that if it isn't going their way, then it isn't democracy. This group wants financial equality for nothing. They want the government to wipe their asses from birth until death. Sorry - but that is not democracy.

The Trade Unions have joined forces with the Occupy movement. I have yet to see real democracy coming from the Trade Unions. For example - if a union is present at a place of employment, you are forced to join the union even though you may not want to. Where is my freedom of assembly, freedom of choice? If the union goes on strike and you don't want to, where is your freedom of speech? The Trade Unions have been notorious in demanding obedience to their cause and what they say, and what they want you to do and say. Strange. This isn't democracy as I understand it.

So is democracy up for sale? No it isn't. Democracy is the ability to enshrine basic human rights and freedoms while at the same time respecting and allowing for those of contrary thought and voice equal ability to be heard and be just as respected.

So far what I hear from this group and the left is something that doesn't even come close to looking like democracy.

Canada is a "social democracy" meaning that basic democratic rights and freedoms are available, but with some government control in order to attempt a balance within the state. This too however has been hijacked by the politically correct otherwise known as the political left - liberals.

The socialistic values that the occupy groups are demanding are nothing more than fascism and communism in their direction. Democracy has been sold out by liberals, trade unions, and socialist thinkers.

When one expects the government to look after you, wipe your ass from birth to death, you have already sold out democracy.

Judge Brown has upheld the eviction notice given to the Occupy Toronto protesters. The protestors plan to ask for an appeal. They have even gone to the United Nations human rights commission with their complaint. What they forget is that at no time has any judge who has ruled in this and similar occupy protests have said that the protesters do not have a right to protest.

In each judgement the courts have made it clear that every person has the right to protest and to demonstrate, but do not have the right to "occupy" private or public property without the clear consent of the owner of that property. Not even the United Nations lefties in their human rights clubs can contest the act of trespassing.

As for the protestors of Occupy Toronto, they now must determine if they want to put on a show or not. So far that is what this whole protest thing has been, a show. If the protestors wish to escalate their demonstration to the next level, so be it. They need to understand that in escalating their demonstration to the next level will also escalate the reaction to it.

But this would appear to be the desire of the leadership of these groups. They have been passive in their demonstrations to the point of yawning boredom. Demanding that the wealthy give up their cash just to spread it around to everyone in the name of "social justice" or "economic equality" is just a futile and stupid as the protest has become.

Taking it to the next step could and can loose any support that these "alleged freeloaders" might have with the common people who are actually working to make ends meet and looking after their families the best they can.

The next step will come quickly I am sure.

Occupy Toronto-> socialist fascists nothing else

The Occupationists marched on city hall in Toronto demanding that Mayor be evicted. It is obvious that this politically left organization is nothing more than followers and very little more.

Their demands that Mayor Ford be evicted represent the lefties of down town Toronto who hate anything on the right and anyone who is a conservative.

It is well known that if you are a conservative in Toronto, especially down town, you say nothing. But hey, what about "freedom of speech?" Oh yeah - that's right - freedom of speech is only available if you agree with them. Other than that, you're not to say a word.

Very little difference between this group and the demonstrators - Occupy Toronto have not accomplished much accept within their own turf. Outside Toronto very few care. We're too busy making working to make ends meet. The idea to change the world into some kind of socialist society where everyone is equal is nothing more than a pipe dream - and nothing more.

The rhetoric is nothing more than the same stuff that has been spewed for centuries. The idea that we are all equal - well its just a dream and nothing more.

Tell me about equality - being an amputee didn't make me equal to two legged individuals. The idea of taxing everyone into an equal social standard is stupid - had doesn't work.

But we will see what will happen on Monday. If Judge Brown keeps with the present Canadian court verdicts, occupy Toronto will see some changes - like remove your tents and other structures from the park.

Of course the Occupy Toronto is nothing more than media hungry. The more they get into the media the happier they are. Does their message go very far? No.

Monday Occupy Toronto could be packing up

The courts of British Columbia asked some tough questions, but in the end the courts have ordered Occupy Victoria and Occupy Vancouver to take down their tents and vacate the parks.

The courts were quick to establish that freedom of speech and freedom of assembly did not apply to an understanding or condition of freedom to occupy. The Occupationists could not present a strong enough case in saying that establishing a camp sight to occupy a space 24/7 was essential to their freedom of speech and assembly.

The courts in Quebec concluded the same results after Occupy Montreal presented similar case attempting to establish a constitutional right.

In all cases through out Canada, none of the Occupation protesters were able to establish concrete constitutional rights supported by freedom of speech and freedom of assembly as a reason that their tents should stay.

The courts on the other hand supported the municipalities stating that the Occupationists were in fact in violation of municipal bylaws that were established long before the occupation protests that prohibited camping or sleeping overnight in municipal parks without prior permission.

The municipalities had established clear cut facts in the terminology of trespass to property acts based on the Criminal Code of Canada, Provincial Trespass to Property Acts, and Municipal park acts stating clearly the intended use of municipal owned parks and property.

Judge Brown did the right thing in waiting to see what other provincial courts and municipal jurisdictions were establishing their cases. Toronto is no different.

It is common for judges across the country to support each others' rulings, which in fact establishes "case law" in this situation. Yes, Judge Brown could throw a wrench into the whole thing and say that the Toronto Occupationists had a case and thus force the City of Toronto to appeal the verdict.

On the other hand Judge Brown could and actually should follow the rulings of other Canadian courts and rule in the same direction, which is - take all tents and structures down, you have the right to protest, but not occupy. That seems to be the normal verdict in each court case so far.

On Monday we shall see. In reality what ever the protesters have created or have protested hasn't really changed anything and have only established a fascist concept of socialism.

Lets face it. The main theme coming from the Occupation camps is this: Tax the rich and spread the wealth amongst everybody so that everybody has the same. Question: Why should someone who earns $34,000.00 and more, be reduced through taxation to have an income of $20,000.00 and you who lives on welfare or earns less than $12,000.00 gain an increase for nothing to $20,000.00 a year. Why work? Why earn extra? For those who earn more than $34,000.00 and more, why stay in Canada?

What the protesters are demanding didn't work in Russia, doesn't work in Communist China, didn't work in Fascist Italy let alone Fascist Germany. It didn't work in Fascist Spain, nor is it working in Communist Cuba. It didn't even work effectively in the early Christian Church where it was reported that everyone sold all they had, gave it to the church, and all lived as having everything in common with one another.

So if the Christians couldn't do it, how do these protesters think secular society can make it work?

Elder Abuse is a Crime that Canada needs to deal with.

Elder abuse is something that has been swept under the carpet until the pile under the carpet becomes noticeable. It is everywhere which is the biggest problem. For many of us, we have no idea what to look for until we are confronted with it - or as it appears in front of our faces.

Nursing homes, that place where we want to believe that our loved ones are being looked after, helped, and cared for are one of the largest offenders of elder abuse. What we would consider abuse to our own selves, this goes on in many nursing homes and hospitals where the elderly or senior is being looked after.

In my own case, I was helping my mother cope with medical problems. Her foot needed to be operated on to set it right. The doctor who performed the operation did her best but screwed everything up just the same. Bit it wasn't the doctor, it was one of the ex-ray technicians that was causing the problem.

I had taken my mother into Brantford General Hospital for her check up. I had learned that where ever my mothers goes in the hospital, I need to be there with her. This is one case in which I needed to step in and act. The technician was twisting my mother's foot instead of moving the camera into the position to take the ex-ray. I could see the pain my mother was in. I stepped into the ex-ray room and confronted the technician.

I told her she could move the camera into the positions needed. The technician became angry and told me she would have security come in and remove me. It was then that I advised her she better call the head of the hospital and the police as I was going to charge her for elder abuse and have her fired.

It didn't take long to get around the hospital that I was a health care advocate for my parents. Since that time the treatment of my mother was very different and including the way my mother's family doctor treats her. When I arrive with my mother, there is a different attitude and different way in treating her.

This I believe is very important that seniors have a health and legal advocate with them at all times. I am an advocate for my parents in health, financial, and legal matters. I am with them to make sure that they are not being abused, taken advantage of, or misrepresented. This is important in this country where elder abuse is just starting to come into light.

It is important that seniors take the necessary measures needed to obtain an advocate to work on their behave and be with them in all matters of life.

I made sure I was there when my parents toured a nursing home for future consideration. I was there to make sure there wasn't any pressure sales, or false representation of the reality of care and level of care. I was able to ask questions, take the tour with my parents, directed questions towards their specific needs and was also including during the interviews. When the documents were signed my name went along with theirs as their advocate in all things.

Yes it may place a burden on the advocate, but that is the reason why seniors need an advocate - to protect the senior in all things so that the senior is treated like a person and not a number in relation to a dollar intake.

A lot more has to be done still to bring elder abuse to the forefront and attention that is needed to make elder abuse a crime.

Is Life That Cheep in Canada?

It would appear that life is cheep in Canada. Abortions abound for any excuse, where it was once determined that there needed to be conditions. Now the only condition is birth control. But its not stopping there.

Now a group is lobbying the Government of Canada to allow for Doctor assisted suicide and euthanasia to those who are terminally ill and want to end their lives. But it's not stopping there. Despite the call for strict regulations, everyone knows that Doctor assisted suicides will increase and that the rules will be relaxed.

From viewing the Netherlands and their assisted suicide policies which have been in effect for the past thirty plus years, the rules have been relaxed and not just a bit.

Excuses now can be for mental disorders, disabilities, old age, burden on the health system, all disguised as being for the better good of the person in a humane and caring society. Bull shit!

Is this Nazi Germany or Communist Russia where euthanasia was performed in order to sustain a perfect society? Mentally ill people of all ages were euthanized as a means lighten the burden of society looking after them. Mental hospitals were cleared out of their patients.

But it didn't stop there. Disabled people were included in the "purification program" for a better society. Children and adults with autism, polio, amputated limbs were part of this program in both Germany and Russia. For years China claimed they had no amputees or mentally disabled people. It has only been since 1984 that China recognized these individuals as being part of their society.

Just like abortions, euthanasia and doctor assisted suicides if allowed will be end up being a program to "cull" society of those who are elderly, disabled in any way, and not just the terminally ill.

If this goes through, life in Canada will be cheep and individuals will not have the control they will think they have in making a choice. For example, those in accidents often become depressed and therefore vulnerable to suggestions that their life will be a burden and therefore "wouldn't it be more humane to go out peacefully?" Bull shit!

Here We Go Again -Kyoto - Climate Change - bla, bla bla

Kyoto is on the screen again. This time in South Africa where third world countries are demanding that countries like Canada and the United States agree to a binding agreement on so called climate change.

But what is at the bottom of this climate change? Oh yes - billions upon billions of dollars to be given to developing third world countries through such schemes as carbon exchange, carbon credits, carbon brokerage, and what ever else there is that is designed to take money from the wealthy nations and give it to the third world developing nations without anything in return.

Let's face it - climate has been changing for centuries. You think the iceburgs are just now forming? What about the sinking of the Titanic? Was that some conspiracy or did it collide with an iceburg? Ice has been breaking off ice shelves at both the south pole and north pole and the ice has been replaced by storms of ice and snow every year.

The United Nations is clamoring the about Canada not signing any new agreement. Thirteen years of liberal rule never saw the Kyoto Accord become law in Canada. It was ignored by the liberals just like it is being ignored by the Conservative government and rightly so.

The Kyoto agreement was flawed right from the beginning. Why should Canada pay billions and billions every year and get nothing in return. You environmentalists surely aren't that stupid? Well, maybe your are.

Canada is responsible for only 2% of the world's carbon in the atmosphere of the world. Yet Canada is constantly the one getting blamed by environmental pricks as if Canada is responsible for all of the world's carbon emissions. Any agreement for an extension of this stupid Kyoto agreement only means that Canada will be forced to pay billions to third world countries - nothing more.

No carbon exchange or taxation or what ever will stop the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. Even before industrialization the world's climate was changing over and over again. To say that this is some new phenomenon is shear stupidity and ignorance of the truth and facts.

Idiots believe that ice flows melt in 24 hours or in two months. Only idiots believe that Canada is a major polluter of carbon. And only idiots believe that carbon emissions can be stopped on a dime.

For Canada to comply with the demands of Kyoto both then and now, would mean that everyone would have to stop driving. That all industrialization has to stop now. That there can be no electrical generation of any kind what so ever, that all of Canada would have to come to a complete stop, every animal and human would have to stop farting, and all swamps, rotting carcases, would have to be drained and buried and all rotting trees would have to be stopped along with all fires of any kind. That is how ridiculous Kyoto is in order for Canada to meet the demanded targets.

But wait! Everyone knows that no country can meet the demanded targets! That's the whole purpose of this Kyoto crap. The idea is that since no country can meet their targets, they would have to buy carbon credits so that on paper each country was doing their share to reduce carbon emissions. STUPID!

If no country can meet their emission goals, then they have to buy, trade, sell, and exchange carbon credits which means that the money spent would be given to the United Nations who in turn would divide the money up between third world countries. That is all this crap is - the exchange of money from the wealthy nations to poor nations so that in the end all nations are equal in wealth.

In other words this is nothing more than a communist ideology to bring "un-earned" equality through out the world. But then let's look at some of these third world countries. Most of them are anti-American, anti-western nations. Most of them are run by corrupt governments who would pocket the money for themselves while the people of their nations get piddly squat.

Rip off? You betcha and the United Nations is behind it all the way.

The best thing for Canada to do is not attend this conference in South Africa.

This is all becoming nothing more than an over sized bore. Occupy Toronto, occupy Vancouver - its all an excuse to do something while the rest of the real world doesn't really care.

Its amazing how these people actually believe they are bringing world attention to the inequality of the rich and poor. As if we already didn't know this. We already knew that big business calls the shots when it comes to government, and unless Canada becomes some sort of fascist state like these occupiers unwittingly are suggesting, nothing is going to change.

So what if the unions support these tent people. We all know that unions are socialists, who believe in some form of equality as long as they get more than the average person. Unions don't give a crap for average joe unless average joe pays union dues, and then its conditional.

We already know that most of the protesters are professional protesters who already know how to milk the system, con the public for donations and handouts. They say one thing and do another - they protest what ever is popular to protest.

Now some group of individuals are threatening to wipe Toronto off the internet by hacking the city sites if they move against the occupiers. That is nothing more than a criminal threat. The reality is, that these people want hand outs for doing nothing and they want everyone else to give them what they want while they sit on their asses and fart.

I tire of the b.s. that surrounds these people. I am tired of the garbage they speak of. While the rest of us are working, finding ways to make a living, these people want everything handed to them. Well they don't deserve it and neither should they expect to be given anything for nothing.

So now that they want to dig in, their message still remains the same - that's if they even know what their message is.

So when the needle on the meter moves, I might consider caring.

After three years of study, three years of environmental study, after three years of debating and talking and negotiating, the Obama administration wants to put the pipeline on hold until after the elections of 2012, suggesting to talk about it again in 2013.

They have suggested another route to take, after the shortest and most efficient route was established. This can only develop into a further postponement. I say SCREW YOU Obama!

The choice was nothing more than political. It has nothing to do with the protesters and everything to do with Obama playing up to the environmentalists so he can get his second term in office as president.

Well Canada needs to say something else to the United States.

Yeah! Screw you! you had your chance, now forget it. You want to wait until 2013, we up yours!

Canada needs to realize two things. 1. Canada can and should be building their refinery and then sell the finished product to the United States and make a bundle.

2. Canada needs to turn the pipeline through the Rockies and sell the oil to China, Australia, Japan, Vietnam and other Asian countries.

We don't have to sell to the United States. We don't have to ship our oil south. Refine it here and sell it to who ever wants to buy it.

Screw the U.S. We don't always need them nor their permission to make a buck with another nation.

Does it matter? Not really. Has anybody listened? Some. Did it shake the world? No. Was it worth it? That depends on who you talk to.

Now the time has come for the Occupationist Jamboree Camps to come down and move on. I listened to an interview this morning on CBC and you can tell that there was and is a stark difference between the Occupationists of the United States and Canada.

The Canadian movement is trying to copy the American example but is failing miserably at it because our social standards and social programs are so different. There are plus factors in Canada that they don't have in the United States.

There are politicians in Canada that are not in the $100,000.00 plus a year bracket. In fact Canada has many politicians that before they were elected into office earned less than 60 even 35 thousand dollars a year. We need to understand that the average American politician is already a millionaire, if not then very close to it.

Canadians do have social programs that their American counterparts do not, like health care, student welfare programs and there are a lot more. Canada is a social democracy where the rights of the majority out way the rights of the individual, though that also depends if you're a white male or not as well. We need to remember the political correctness runs the show here and people who get easily offended can scream foul and sue for what ever reason they want - as long as they go before the Provincial Human Rights Tribunal.

To rely on American rhetoric is not a wise idea here in Canada. Even though it may pass as being exceptionable to some, the reality is that most people in Canada don't really care about the Occupationists. There are those who have some sympathy as they give them food, donations of cash, and other stuff, but it appears to be more out of kindness than support for their cause.

They've made their point. Now its time to move on. They have become a nuisance for now, and those who are in the "care" crowd are becoming fewer and fewer in number.

The Occupationists have proven that they can look after themselves and each other, but that's about all. In small communities like this yeah, but put that on a larger scale and we can all identify it as communism and fascism. There are no real leaders, and therefore no one to really speak for the group.

So as the sun sets on yet another day, we can say farewell to the Occupationists as they breakdown their camps and return home to their warm beds.

Stop the Keystone XL Pipeline!

Only in Canada you will find politicians and business people who are bent on providing jobs for other people in other countries than creating jobs in Canada for Canadians. Stop building the pipeline. Instead build a refinery in Canada that can refine the crude here. That will provide jobs here. That will lessen the attempts of sabotage on the pipe line. Create jobs here in Canada by building this much needed refinery here.

Every time there is something that could be done in Canada, for some reason the Canadian government and industry believe that Canadians just are good enough to do the job here.

This has finally changed when the Government of Canada awarded Canadian ship building companies the contracts to build Canadian ships, here in Canada putting Canadians to work and keeping the money here in Canada. After all if the ships are going to be part of the Canadian Navy would it not make sense to build the ships here.

The same idea should be considered when it comes to shipping crude oil from Alberta to Texas. Forget Texas! Forget shipping the crude to some already existing refinery in the United States. Build the refinery here in Alberta, refine and process the oil here and then ship it out from the refinery.

This makes more common sense than building a pipe line that we know will be sabotaged every step of the way. If the refinery is built here in Canada, that will put people to work. Once the refinery is completed it will still put Canadians to work. It will keep Canadian money here in Canada to be spent here in Canada by Canadian workers.

This is for Canada - not for the United States. Forget the U.S. It is time to put more Canadians to work building a refinery that is desperately needed. If the oil is refined here, it serves the needs of Canadians. Why should we have to buy our oil from a U.S. refinery in Texas? It does not make sense.

Built the pipe line here. Build the refinery here. Put Canadians to work here. Put Canadian dollars into Canadian companies that employ Canadians. That is what Canada should be doing instead of supporting a stupid pipe line that is becoming more and more like a circus act every day with all these protesting clowns.

You Can't Fix Stupid

Tent cities have sprung up all over the place. But these tent cities are not homeless people, though by now many of them have slipped into these dwelling places. These are tents owned by the "occupationists" who believe in the socialist scheme of getting stuff for nothing.

It amazes me how these people believe that socialism, better yet, fascism will make them financially equal to those who are in the so called 1% bracket. These people only want handouts and nothing more. They want government to wipe their asses from birth until death and then some. They really believe that if the rich are taxed that they will get part of that? That is nothing more than an idealistic form of communism that has never existed and will never exist.

It was laughable yet when some of those who were cooking for the occupationists were upset that homeless people were standing in line for food. These cooks refused to cook. Well isn't that the idea of this communistic protest that everyone get treated equally? Then why weren't the homeless people fed like the others? After all this is what equality is all about, that everyone get equal treatment and equal dividends despite their situation in life.

These people should reconsider their purpose. If they are that pissed at wall street or bay street wealth, than don't buy from the corporations. Go instead to the ma and pa corner store and spend your money there. Go buy food, produce, meat etc. from the farmer and the local butcher shop instead of the large corporations. After all isn't that the idea - starve the corporation and feed the local economy and store owner?

So far the occupationists don't have a clear mandate as to why they are protesting. They have no clear direction and have no inkling why they are doing what they are doing. Now that winter is setting in, it isn't fun anymore.

As a friend of mine keeps saying: "you can't fix stupid."

It amazes me how Canadian activists who venture outside of Canada to protest actually believe because they are Canadian that they should be treated as if they are still in Canada.

There are complaints that some of the Canadian activists were "roughed up" by Israeli soldiers when they refused to leave the ship that had been boarded. First of all, the activists were asked or told (it really doesn't matter) to leave the ship that had been seized by the Israeli military. The activists refused to leave, so what do you expect.

These people believe that Canadian law applies in foreign waters or other countries. They expect to have the same rights as they would in Canada. These activists got a rude awakening to the truth. When you are in Rome you do as the Romans which means you are a "visitor" in another country and you obey their laws and their policies. Its that simple.

Activists seem to be of an arrogant mind that their shit don't stink and that they are "special people of privilege" . Well guess what? You're not.

So let me know when the needle moves. When you come back to Canada you can cry all you want, but until then it really doesn't matter because you're not special. You knew you were going into unfriendly territory and by refusing to leave the vessel you got treated the way you deserved to be treated for refusing to obey someone in authority of and in another country.

Too bad - not sad - deal with it.

Pay The Piper! Call The Tune!

If we are to call forth the sweet strains of a better world, then we must be prepared to pay the piper; for, he who pays the piper DOES call the tune!

Fortunately, this is something that we are quite capable of doing. The Money is there for whatever it is that we need money for. Alas, the choice of how to spend it, is not. That choice is in the hands of the money-lenders.

The struggle over who should control a nation`s money system has been going on for centuries. Its history is a most instructive cautionary tale. Thomas Jefferson, for example, addressed this issue early in the history of the United States. Without so much as a crystal ball, he warned:

“If the American people ever allow the banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and the corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers occupied. The issuing power of money should be taken from the banks and restored to Congress and the people to whom it belongs. I sincerely believe the banking institutions having the issuing power of money are more dangerous to liberty than standing armies.” 1

The good news, is that we have a bank of our own, you and I. It`s our central bank. It`s called The Bank of Canada. We bought it during the 1930s –– a time when the Great Depression had educated the public to a level of consciousness and concern about banks and banking that would serve us well today.

As early as 1925, J.S. Woodsworth, then the Independent Labour Party Member of Parliament for Winnipeg North, and one of only two M.P.s who held the balance of power crucial to the Liberal minority government of Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King, called for a nationalized system of banking, and government control of the issuance of currency and credit, with the removal of this power from private corporations. He contended that money supply should be managed for national interests rather than private profit, saying that, ‘‘in this we face the larger question as to whether or not Parliament is to be sovereign, as to whether or not the people are to be sovereign, or whether we have not had our liberties filched from us without most of us having been aware of what has taken place.’’ 2

Whoever Said that Canadian History Was Dull?

In 1933, the Bennett government appointed a royal commission on banking –– the Macmillan commission. One of those who appeared before the Macmillan commission was Gerald Grattan McGeer, representing the Vancouver, New Westminster and District Trades and Labour Council. McGeer was a highly accomplished lawyer, counsel to the B.C. government during the freight-rate cases of the 1920s. His brilliant success had resulted in ““significant reductions in rates and corresponding increases in commercial activity.”” Those cases had convinced him that money and its mismanagement were at the root of the problem, and had drawn his attention to economics, especially in money, banking and interest. That concern was further stimulated by the Great Depression, whose cause he traced to faulty monetary policies. 3

McGeer’’s report on the Macmillan Commission included a devastating criticism of the commission itself, and of the ““indecent haste”” with which it was proceeding. He suggested that the Commission could be likened to a ““thieves’’ kitchen court, in which the wrong –– doers were both upon the Bench and in the jury box””.
He pointed out, for example, that under the ministry of one member of the Commission. Sir Thomas White, P.C., K.C., M.G., Vice-President of the Canadian Bank of Commerce, and Canadian war-time Minister of Finance, war-time rates of interest charged to government for credit loans were increased by 50%.

Also included in his report were excerpts from the British Macmillan Committee on banking credit and finance, (same Macmillan!), excerpts which McGeer believed reflected the minority views of such other notable members of that committee as John Maynard Keynes, and which supported his own.

Finally, he enclosed the outline of a plan for Canada, entitled, The Conquest of Poverty. In it, he explained how ““public credit [was] used to support the most powerful predatory monopoly in finance that has ever been organized””, and argued that ““legal tender money and the purchasing power medium of exchange, whether it be money or credit, transferred by cheque, is ... a creature of law and its creation and circulation constitute the exercise of a supreme prerogative power of governmental authority””. In the course of time ““, he predicted, ““The system of more equitably distributing national income will be perfected””. ““But, in the meantime””, he stressed, ““We must get started””. ““His performance at the committee won much public acclaim and wide publicity””. 4

Three of the five members of the Commission supported the creation of the Bank of Canada. While there was little opposition in the Commons to creating the Bank of Canada, important issues remained to be settled. 5 Two of these were key. Should the bank be privately or publicly owned? Who should have supreme authority on monetary policy, the government or the bank? The ensuing struggle for ownership of the Bank of Canada is a buried tale that bears out Santayana’’s observation that, “those who do not remember their history are doomed to repeat it”.

The Bank of Canada opened in 1935. In August of that year, in a radio address to the nation, Prime Minister, Mackenzie King, said:

“Once a nation parts with control of its currency and credit, it matter not who makes that nation’’s laws. Usury, once in control will wreck any nation. Until the control of currency and credit is restored to government and recognized as its most conspicuous and sacred responsibility, all talk of the sovereignty of Parliament and of democracy is idle and futile.”

To this Abraham Lincoln would have added that ““the privilege of creating and issuing money is not only the supreme prerogative of government, but it is its greatest CREATIVE OPPORTUNITY””. In an address to Congress, a few weeks before his assassination, Lincoln outlined principles not unlike those expressed in the Bank of Canada Act and predicted that by the adoption of these principles ... ““money [would] cease to be the master and become the servant of humanity””, and that, ““democracy would rise superior to the money power””. 6

Colourful, controversial, relentless, indefatigable, and a powerful orator, McGeer championed the cause of monetary reform through a publicly owned bank, operated by the Canadian government. He stirred national debate on the subject. ““From him, more than any other man of his time, [the public] learned about the awful power of money””.7

Finally, in 1938, thanks in no small part to Gerry McGeer, Prime Minister Mackenzie King, in accordance with his political insights, and his well honed skills in the ““art of the possible””, led his government to ““nationalize”” the Bank of Canada.

In Canada, it seemed for a time that the question of who should create the money –– the state on behalf of all the people, or the private banks in their own interests and that of their preferred clientele - had been decided. Money - creation was shared by the government, through the Bank of Canada, and the private banks. The system served us well. It helped finance World War II and favoured us with a ““Golden Age””. It helped us to afford post-war infrastructure projects like the Trans-Canada highway and the St. Lawrence Seaway, and social programs like the Canada Pension Plan and Medicare. It nurtured a growing Middle class and an increasingly egalitarian society.

"The modern banking system manufactures money out of nothing. The process is perhaps the most astounding piece of sleight of hand that was ever invented. Banking was conceived in iniquity
and born in sin. Bankers own the earth; take it away from them, but leave them with the power to create credit, and with the stroke of a pen they will create enough money to buy it back again....If you want to be slaves of the bankers, and pay the costs of your own slavery, then let the banks create money. "8

In The Rise Of Canada’’s Richest 1%, Armine Yalnizian, economist with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, draws on data used in a study by two economists, Emmanuel Saez, and Michael Veall, which showed how, in both the U.S. and Canada, long-term trends towards greater income equality were reversed after 1980.

“From 1946 to the end of the 1970s””, she points out, ““the majority of Canadians saw a rapid rise in income....and there was a clear and consistent trend towards greater equality. After 1980, however, despite a decade of unbroken economic growth, that trend took what has been called, the Great U-Turn of Our Time a flip from decades of steady DECLINES in income inequality to its opposite: a steady INCREASE in inequality, in good times and bad.

Economic growth no longer paved the path to widespread prosperity. But, for a select few, good times never seemed so good. Incomes of the very rich have doubled and tripled, while they flat-lined for the majority, which has also been squeezed by rising costs and worsening household debt.”

One particular example she cites is that, “ From the beginning of the Second World War to 1977, the income share of the richest 1% was cut in half, from 14% to 7.7%; by 2007, we were right back where we started: the richest 1% held 13.8% of incomes in Canada, and the trend-lines show no signs of levelling off”.

Of course, this didn’’t just happen! No ““invisible hand”” filled the pockets of the rich. No mystical market reversed the “trickle-down”. It happened because real politicians, in a real House of Commons, using MONETARY POLICY,(the use by a government or central bank of interest rates or controls to influence the economy), and FISCAL POLICY,(the use of taxation and government spending to influence the economy), made the rich richer and made debt-slaves of the rest of us.

Politics and economics are two sides of the same coin. Indeed, what we today call ECONOMICS used to be called POLITICAL ECONOMY –– a term I believe we should resurrect, because it more honestly reflects the truth, and because it would remind a better informed public of that crucial connection.

As the financial elite escaped the arms of KEYNESIAN ECONOMICS and embraced the NEOLIBERAL ECONOMICS championed by politicians like Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan, successive Canadian governments abdicated their responsibilities under the Bank of Canada Act, and surrendered our central bank to the moneylenders. Whereas, as recently as the early seventies, the Bank of Canada was still creating up to 25% of the money supply, today it creates less than 5%; 95% of our money is DEBT!

MONEY MATTERS! It is the lifeblood of the economy. If there is a shortage of money, the economy shrinks; if too much, money loses its value. At either extreme, society shudders as the economy, production, trade, and consumption of the goods and services on which it depends, slump or lurch into dysfunction.

HOW MONEY IS CREATED ALSO MATTERS! Money created by government is essentially debt-free and is spent into the real economy. This frees the government to act in the public interest. It empowers the government to exercise democratic control over priorities like job- creation and environmental protection, in a mixed economy, (one with a mixture of state and private enterprises).It promotes economic and political stability by enabling the government to maintain purchasing power for individuals and the nation.

Money created by private banks is created out of thin air, through loans, and is lent into a market economy. It favours financial capital over human capital. It perpetuates the ““boom –– bust”” cycle characteristic of the capitalist system. When the government is short of revenue it is forced to borrow money from private banks and must, like any other borrower, pay interest. This empowers banks and other corporations to influence government policy, and places governments under various constraints. Government debt, for example, swells taxes (for some!), and is used to justify cuts to social services.

The debt-money system generates serious problems. One of these is that private banks can create only the amount of the loan; they cannot create the money needed to pay the interest on that loan. There is never, therefore, enough money in the system. This makes growth imperative. The system must grow or die. Debt and the interest on debt grow faster than money and income because debt is the only way to create new money. If the money supply cannot keep up to the cost of debt and interest, the economy will stall. When the burden of debt exceeds the capacity of debtors to pay, or the willingness of lenders to lend, the system must fail.

The pressure of debt on business intensifies competition, generating waste and exploitation. Businesses strive to grow bigger through mergers and takeovers, to dominate and manipulate markets, to minimize costs, and to escape government interference, (but ensure government protection!).

Through so-called free trade, and debt, corporate globalization has created a “New World Order” owned by international capital, and has established a global infrastructure designed to put nations in their place and keep them there.

As Paul Hellyer has put it:
"In reality, the banks have turned the world into one humungous pawn shop. You hock your stocks, house, business, rich mother-in-law...Then, if the market value of your collateral goes down, the bank may phone and insist that you beef up your collateral or pay off the loan. That happened in the 2007 crisis. This would not be necessary if the banks themselves were not so highly leveraged. They have lent or invested twenty times as much as they actually have, on the basis of that collateral." 9

Our money supply has been privatized. The Bank of Canada, which could create money at little or no interest, borrows it instead from private banks at COMPOUND interest! The banks get the profit; we get the debt. That debt is then used to justify cuts to education, health care ...all of those social goods and services that most of us would deem it an economic system’s raison d’être to deliver.

Then, when the economy flags or fails –– as it sometimes must, given the “boom-bust” nature of the present system –– we pay those banks to stimulate the economy –– which they may or may not do –– or , we may even have to bail them out! In his 2009 budget, for example, Steven Harper agreed to purchase an additional $50 billion in government-insured mortgages from Canada’’s major banks, bringing the total since late the previous year, to C$125 billion. Mark Carney, governor of the Bank of Canada, has admitted that the banks know that the government will protect them, and has said, “We have to get rid of that”.

Whether our major concern is education, health care, social justice, the environment...we are all shackled to spokes of the same wheel. And that wheel is hurtling along the path of corporate globalization. At the hub of that wheel, causing it to spin faster and faster, is something called the money system. Unless we deal with that, NONE of these problems can be solved; for money is power –– the power that drives our economic system. Our present trajectory is over the cliff.

What to Do? Some Suggestions
   1. Take back what is ours –– recover our central bank and use it to further the Common Good.
    2. Re-regulate private banks.
    3. Reduce our foreign debt.
   4.Introduce a system of accounting that will distinguish between investment and debt.
   5. Alter the way we assess the health of our economic system.
   6. Develop a national incomes policy.
    7. Make employment a genuine priority.
    8. Restore a reasonable measure of equality through fair taxation.
    9. Recognize the priority of human capital over financial capital.
10. Reconsider corporate charters.

How?
1. Educate ourselves and others about our options. If you don’t know what your options are, you don’t have any.
2. Work to make important issues regarding our political economy a matter of national debate.
3. Organize political action.
4. Make electoral reform an immediate goal.
5. Elect a government with the understanding, the integrity and the courage to legislate and enforce essential reforms.
6. Alert Canadians to the threats they face. For example, in June, 2010, during the G-20 meetings, former Prime Minister, Paul Martin, in a key-note speech at a Toronto seminar, asserted that we must “re-define sovereignty”. His theme was the need for, “global economic Governance”. "Every nation”, he stressed, “must submit to international laws that are mandatory and enforceable."

Canadians would do well to question this transfer of power BEFORE the monetary option is stolen from them. Serious national debate on this issue - a far more serious debate than that on N.A.F.T.A - could prevent the ultimate surrender of our national sovereignty to the tyranny of the global money power.

A Word to the Faint of Heart:
It was people with all the credentials that led us into this age of crises. There are good people with all the credentials who will help us where we need their expertise.

The eminent British economist, Joan Robinson, has observed that, “You don’’t study economics so that you can develop a new theory. You study economics so as not to be deceived by economists”.

“Amateurs built the Ark; experts built the Titanic.”

Poppy Thief

Have you seen this scum bag? In Toronto this man stole a box of poppies to get the money that has already been donated. This dirt bag isn't worth the amount of rotting flesh that makes up his body.

For those who do not know about these poppy donation boxes, they are distributed to businesses through out Canada by the Canadian Legion. The money collected is used by the Canadian Legion for a variety of community programs.

The poppy is a symbol of respect for the Soldiers who have died in Canadian military encounters through out the world, starting with World War One right to the present day. It is a symbol of Remembrance for those who gave up their lives for their country, Canada. It Remembers and Respects the "honoured dead" and is worn by Canadians before and on Remembrance Day. A flower that signifies that We Will Not Forget.

But there are some in Canada who steel these boxes for the greed of money. The above man is not in desperation of need. For him its just free money and he'll likely throw away the poppies that are in the box.

This useless fowl undigested piece of flesh is an insult to Canada and to Canadians. He is a waste of flesh. This picture is so clear that even if he does not get caught, I hope his so called friends ostracize him from their circle, that even his family notes his degraded behaviour and makes it known to him. That he gets turned in and charged - and even though the charge will be considered a petty theft, he has stolen from the country. He was stolen from the Respect and Remembrance of the soldiers who gave up their lives. He has insulted the Veterans both past, present, and future as well as every Canadian.

This scum bag is nothing more than dirt and debris - a blight on humanity - a shameless and shameful representation of a nothing looser.

Free Tibet

China has continued to oppress the people of Tibet from the first time they invaded and took possession of Tibet.

This week 10 Tibetan monks set themselves on fire in protest of the continual oppression of the people of Tibet. They seek religious freedom. They seek the freedom to establish their own destiny, to rule over their own people by their own leaders.

Since the year that China invaded Tibet to the present, the government of China has brought in Chinese immigrants into Tibet to make Tibet China. To thin out Tibetan culture and blood and replace them with Chinese culture and blood.

The Tibetan people don't want to be Chinese - they want to be Free Tibetans in their own land.

Free Tibet - China needs to get out of Tibet and return it back to the Tibetan rule.

Wecolme to Ontario!

Welcome to Ontario where as of November 1, everyone will be paying "winter rates" for the energy they use. Yes that's right - "winter rates". It is just a number of continued increases in taxes, fees, and more if you really want to keep track of granny dalton's assault on the Ontario public.

We're stuck with this guy for at least another year. He's not like Prime Minister Steven Harper who could rule at Prime Minister with two consecutive minority governments. No granny dalton will be taking us to another election and he will blame it on both opposition parties, hoping to get a majority so he can continue screwing the Ontario population.

This week he was at Algonquian College bragging about his green energy program, all the while either not knowing or caring to find out, that in Germany Bayer Company has threatened to lay off all 50,000 employees if Germany doesn't give them a break in their energy costs. They already have made plans to move to India and China if the German government doesn't co-operate.

Like all of granny dalton's promises, they all end up as nothing more than raw sewage. Remember the so called closure of the Mississauga natural gas generating plant? Well its still being built. They've installed one of the first generators to be used in manufacturing energy with more to come. Did granny dalton lie? Of course he did. He only wanted the votes - nothing else. Dalton and the liberals will say anything to get a vote - even if they know its a lie, misleading the public, a white lie, or what ever.

The liberals know they can't be held accountable to promises. They won that case in court after his first election where he signed a document saying he would not raise taxes and did. So how can we trust this guy? And yet Toronto elected him into office.

It just goes to show that Toronto holds the balance of power and the rest of the province can go pound salt.

It is time to tell Toronto to get lost - but that ain't going to happen soon.

Where do we go? What do we do now?

The occupation of cities is loosing its support and its steam. These groups are at a standstill, expecting freebies, handouts, donations, and more for sitting on their asses. There is no real direction to this group and now that colder weather is coming, these people will expect more donations to come their way.

I personally could care less about the group or the occupy what ever street, city, location you want to occupy. I don't agree with the direction of this group either, which is nothing more than fascism or some other socialistic system. The idea of "sharing the wealth" doesn't impress me either nor does the philosophy of 1% of the population controlling the other 99%. It's a clever slogan, but is meaningless just the same.

Social justice is one thing. Social economy is something that I find repulsive. If I earned a million dollars a year why should I have to share that income with lazy protesters who sit on their asses chanting political slogans? I think not.

I don't agree with needle exchange centers either. No one forces someone to be a druggy, the same with alcoholism. If you indulge you pay the consequences. If you die you die. But then that's not the same as choosing to be in poverty, and here is where I might agree with these occupationists.

I personally don't believe that anyone is worth a million plus dollars and that includes hockey and baseball players. I don't believe a CEO in any company is worth a million dollars either, let along five hundred thousand. These are nothing more than excuses for stupidity on the part of companies and organizations that for some reason believe these useless high priced bell hops are worth something. They're not.

The actual high price of electricity is not the delivering nor the manufacturing of energy for house hold consumption. The high price of energy is the excuse to pay these CEOs wages they don't deserve. If the government was serious about the energy prices they would fire the CEOs and make Hydro One and all the other 15 to 30 energy companies into one crown corporation with government control of pricing. Now that is fascism - a system that can work and could work. That is government control of basic energy consumption such as natural gas and hydro.

After all, the hospital system is nothing more than fascism gone a muck by governments who don't think like a business and allow for CEOs and unions to run the show into unfordable conditions. Companies are leaving Canadian and other industrialized countries because of government stupidity and union demands that have become unrealistic.

You want to occupy something? Occupy the union halls that demand unrealistic conditions and wages. Occupy government buildings demanding realistic taxation, spending, and controls of what should be crown corporations. Occupy major companies demanding that their CEOs take a 60% reduction in their pay cheques and put that 60% into the company itself to bring down prices. Occupy the insurance companies that demand outrageous prices and forced conditions on individuals and companies for insurance that should otherwise be productive. Occupy the court houses for handing down lucrative payouts to these stupid law suits of millions of dollars to stupid claims like the one to the woman who crashed her RV thinking that when she put it in cruise control she thought it would drive itself.

Just sitting on your asses chanting and demanding does nothing. How about buying your supplies, groceries, clothes, etc from that Ma and Pa store or some other independent store merchant and not the big corporate box store. There are so many ways to prove your point, you don't have to protest chanting meaningless slogans that everyone is ignoring anyways.

Grow your own vegetables, your own produce - or better yet buy directly from the local farmer. There are thousands of ways and means to get your point across without useless and worthless marches that amount to nothing.

Governments and companies aren't listening. You can beat your drums all day. Unless the problem is attacked at the top, nothing is going to happen. Occupationists want government involvement, then elect your socialist government and don't complain when your pocket is also being picked.

Yes Canada needs changes. The tax system should be scrapped and a flat tax should be instituted across the board with everyone and every company paying the same percentage of their total income and profits, including members of parliament. Then add it a luxury tax on big ticket items that people really don't need, like yachts, luxury cars like Royals Royce etc.

Since the occupationists are demanding government control and involvement that fascism is the way to go, which is nothing more than the governmental control of all aspects of capitalism, including the control of all wages and prices. That's what the occupationists want - that kind of government.

Occupy teaches hand outs - nothing more

Occupy Toronto or what ever other city there is, has done nothing to change any situation. Taxing the rich doesn't mean that those with less money will receive bigger well fare or social assistant cheques. Taxing the rich will only increase the federal and provincial treasury enabling the governments to spend and waste more of our tax dollars.

What the Occupy movement appears to be teaching is nothing more than expecting someone else to give them food and money. It teaches that you can sit on your ass and protest and someone will give you some food, money, blankets - if not directly than indirectly through committees and other organized outlet within the Occupy tent city.

There is nothing else being taught. "Give us your money!" is all the comes out of this group. In other words they want government controls on profits, business, incomes, and what ever else in order to be (get this) divided equally among those who don't have as much.

Here I am.....sitting on my ass.....give me a piece of your earnings and property. Since capitalism is not democracy according to these people, then fascism must be democracy. After all the organizers have created a committee for this and a committee for that, with the idea of spreading the so called wealth from the hand outs that they've received from others.

Teach me to sit on my ass and get a share of the pie...after all I want to protest too. What a bunch of crap that is.

While I'm at it, part of that 99% that is being controlled by the 1% earn more than $100.000.00 a year. I earn less than 16,000 a year and yet I have a roof over my head, a vehicle to drive, money in the bank, and food in the frig. I earn my wages and I enjoy what I do and I don't expect anyone to give me hand outs.

This occupy protests teach just the opposite. It teaches that someone else is going to pay your way while you sit on your ass and do nothing. This occupy protests teaches everyone to expect hand outs, to be given something for nothing. That's all it teaches, nothing more.

The trade unions are in on this because its socialism - where they call the shots while the company and share holders are expected to given what they earn to others in a "share the wealth" concept.

That's all I see from this group - give me a hand out because I deserve it sitting on my ass doing nothing.

These pictures were used in the Toronto Star today to try and show that Mayor Ford was in no danger and that he fabricated the whole event.

What the paper does not do is show the whole situation. They question if Mayor Fords daughter was present, they question whether there was any danger, and they question the Mayor's ability to judge what is serious and what isn't.

As I looked at the pictures, it became obvious that the pictures were specifically chosen to show the Mayor as a bumbling fool. Someone who just took things too far. But look at the face of the Mayor.

First of all he actually doesn't know who this person is. He has no idea of what is really going on. The fact that the photos do not show the Mayor's daughter does not mean that she was not there. The pictures also show that the Mayor is not amused by what is going on. Also the picture shows that the Mayor is not used to having strangers come up to him and put their arms around him. This constitutes an assault by all technical requirements of an assault.

The left is after the Mayor. The left doesn't like Mayor Ford. They accuse him of not being at Gay Pride, but does he need to be there. The answer is no. If he doesn't support the gay community why is he being forced to support gay pride.

The family is more important than a gay pride party. But then Toronto is known only as a party city with no acknowledgement of any sort of real seriousness.

Back to the pictures - CBC still crossed the line by being at the Mayor's home. All homes should be off limits to reporters of any news media or media shows. This is not acceptable. A person's home is his castle is the old saying but it has a lot of meaning.

It is obvious that this whole thing went wrong and CBC needs to approach the Mayor and apologize instead of making excuses.
